Letter I sent to them today:

To Whom It May Concern:
CANCELLATION REQUEST:

I wish for you to cancel my service IMMEDIATELY.
Never have I had such poor customer service in my life.
Approximately one year ago I contacted your customer service to say that I was selling my home and that I would no longer need service.

The customer service rep asked if I would like to move the service and I explained that I was building a new home that would take 9-12 months to build and that I would address my security needs at that time. Instead, the rep took it upon herself to put me in a hold status of which I was unaware of until January of this past year when I started being billed yet again for a service that wasn't even in use at the time.

I'm told now that I needed to have a letter sent in, but I was in no way told that a year ago. I did contact your customer service to find out why I was getting charged and only after several attempts did I find out that my service was put on hold and not cancelled as requested. I asked to speak to a manager at which point I was summarily dumped to voice mail. The manager never returned my call.

I started sending emails in hope that someone in your company was competent and only after several weeks did someone finally contact me. He was not a manager and told me the exact same thing as before. Still more dead ends.

My new home wasn't even finished until February and by that time I was certain that your company would not be monitoring my house. I've made it known to all my new neighbors exactly what kind of business you run. My previous neighborhood also knows of your business practices and I would expect that they will eventually be moving their service to more ethical monitoring services.

To reiterate: Cancel my service immediately.

Secondly, I expect the six months fees embezzled from me returned immediately. Should I have to concern my lawyer in this matter, you can expect that the amount would be much higher than the 6 months of stolen revenue. I've never been more angry and disappointed in a company whom consumers must TRUST with their property and their lives. Your company is no better than the thieves that you purport to protect us from.
