Monogram Credit Card Bank as you know, handles privated label credit cards for many retailers. I was a cardholder of 3, GECAF, Wards, then Penneys when MCCGB purchased the Penneys credit accounts in 2001. The GECAF program was abruptley stopped without any notification in 2000, it was rather embarrising to try to purchase new appliances with that card. Wards closed in 2001, I had recived a letter from MCCGB that I would recieve a Wal Mart credit card with a new account # that my Wards balance would be transferred to.

This is a good one here, the same day that I recieved a Wal Mart bill for my remaining Wards balance($153.96), I also recived another letter from MCCGB stating that I did not qualify for a Wal Mart account. Looking at the statement on the Wal Mart account that I didnt qualify for, the credit limit shown was $1500, which was $500 more than my Wards account. When I called the number for Wal Mart, the CSR stated that my account was open for 14 days, then reviewed and closed. MCCGB also pulled many copies of my credit report, lowering my FICO score in conjunction with my Wards account. Now we are at my Penneys card, I was a cardholder since 1992, never a late payment, substantial earned credit line of $5000.

Not being informed that MCCGB had aquired the Penneys accounts, I go to use my card for a purchase of $357.96(the account had a 0 balance), guess what, my card was declined, quite embarrising considering this is now 2 weeks before christmas. Seems that with MCCGB pulling my credit report a total of 19 times, lowered my FICO score so I didnt qualify for ANY MCCGB cards, andd all of my accounts were "TEMPORARLIY CLOSED", with no notifiaction. Be very careful of MCCGB!!!

Usually I post about sears, but today it's jc penney. Had a jc penney card from 1978 to 2000. Usually bought several thousand dollars worth of stuff from jcp a year. As the years went by, I paid more cash and less on credit. The last couple of years, only cash. In 2000, my wife wanted some dishes, $240 worth, didn't have the cash so I charged them. The due date for the bill is like the 20th of the month, so the 18th, I sent them a chech for $120. On the 25th some rude twit calls me at home and tells me off. She demands to know why I haven't made a payment and do I plan on paying my bill. I told her my mother was dead, she passed away in 1996 and I wasn't looking for a new one. After paying them off, I wrote a "nice" letter to jcp cancelling my account along with the pieces of my cut up credit card. Today 11/9/04, what do I get in the mail, a new jcp master card with a $13,500 credit limit. Now mind you, this was an unsolicited card. I've haven't set foot in or done business with them since. It got cut up as fast as the last one.
