In august of 1992 I went to Speedy Muffler which is now Monro Muffler,to have my front shocks and springs replaced. They came with a"for as long as you own your vehicle" warranty.I just went there to have a broken spring repaired. The manager says the warranty no longer applies. What use is a"for as long as you own vehicle" warranty?

speedy was owned by monro muffler and do honor old warranties. if you look at you original invoice it has a warranty code next to the work done. flip over the invoice and it will tell you what the warrnty code means. example warranty code 20 might be lifetime on parts and 1 year on labor. that information would help out alot. they do sell lifetime on some shocks and struts but only on the parts. but back in the 90's they did have lifelime for mufflers on parts and labor because they don't expect most people to keep there cars for more than 5 years. also if you lost your invoice they may be able to get you a reprint from your history.

You had the work done by one company, but want another to honor the warranty.

Speedy is not Monroe. Just because one company moves into the same building the old one occupied, does not mean the current tenant is responsible for the prior tenant's issues.

You have no claim.
