Complaint Review: Monster Transmission

 I saw an endorsement on a popular Sunday morning performance enthusiast program and decided to purchase a Monster transmission ready to install. Two years and 600 miles it has failed. Obvious hard part's damage inside from an incorrectly shifting transmission. It was not installed in a drag race car. Application is a 1965 Impala with a stock (1972 truck) 350. My only goal was overdrive that the TH700r4 has. Original powerhouse car. Day one after a professional install, it shifted so hard it rattled the truck lid. Called Monster, they asked about the TVC cable adjustment. Much time was spent for correct geometry during install....and adjustments both ways were tried (looser and tighter). Ultimate resolution from Monster tech.....it needs to be broken in. I have seen similar complaints. I do not live close enough to mail this thing back and forth. It is out of warranty and have since installed a Jasper. Should have spent the few hundred extra 2 years ago. I'm a 30 year motor head and have never complained about failures I cause from abuse or miss application. This is a 250 HP Impala cruiser. I hope to sway anyone thinking of taking a chance to save a few bucks from a company with a very poor rep online.
