I purchased a time share with Los Abrigados Resorts of Sedona, Arizona in 1998. They included a deal of 10 weeks per year for life. When I tried to sell the unit in 1999, they claimed that the ten weeks were "not transferable." I defaulted on the deeded trust, but in the meantime, Los Abrigados sold the contract to Concord Finance. Since that time I have been harassed by Monterey Financial Services of Oceanside, CA.

This is a company that has been cited numerous times as a consistent violator of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.As of March 2004, they have increased the amount of calls since they are very desperate, considering that the entry gets wiped from my credit record in 2005.

I have unsuccessfully tried to get Experian to eliminate this entry. I was successful in getting Equifax to investigate and remove this entry from my file. I have never given them a penny throughout all this time, although I did lose my first year (1998) of payments.
