I was a tenant at a campground, Echo Farms, run and owned by Morgan Resorts and paid them a $250.00 electric deposit in 2005. I left the place in July 2012 and asked for my deposit back in Aug 2012 and have made NUMEROUS calls all to no avail. THEY ARE STONEWALLING ME MONTH BY MONTH!! Giving me different stories every time I call. I AM GOING TO CALL ALL THE TV REPORTERS IN THAT AREA AND THE NATIONAL STATIONS IN NY CITY AND REPORT THIS TO THEM. I am betting they do not want this on ABC with Diane Sawyer!! They have my deposit and they also have the new tenant's deposit on the same site. My patience has run out and I am taking some action.

Thanks for the advice. I am a fairly sane person so the Thanks is sincere......however, it is sometimes the squeaky wheel that gets oiled. Also, if you have read any of the reports on this company, they have a big financial problem and are keeping people's money all over the place, or trying to make them pay even more under not so great circumstances. One state is already (Massachusetts) taking them on. I will look into taking them to small claims court. I live in Florida and they are in NY, so which court?? I am thinking NY but then I have never had to do this prior to now.

Hopefully, you're not seriously thinking that the national news media would be interested in your $250 campground deposit.

If you were just kidding and are actually sane, all you need to do is file in small claims against the campground.   No lawyers are required.  If you can prove you paid the deposit and they can't prove they returned it, you win.
