I took my dog to his normal vet for a lump on his leg, I was told it was possibly cancerous and should be removed and a biopsy done as soon as possible. A few days later I brought my dog in for surgery to remove the lump. I came to pick him up and was handed the dog on a leash, leg dripping with blood. I began asking questions about the ecollar how long it should be left on 2 or 3 days I was told.

I asked about stairs, excersice etc etc. I was never instructed on how to care for him after the surgery there were no written instructions but one (of the many) snotty little brats working at the counter said don't let him run around outside because dogs have to be restitched it costs $2000.00!! What? I know vet care in and of itself is a TOTAL ripoff and exploitation of how much far you will go for your pet but this is ridiculous. I left.

Three days later I took the ecollar off and put him in his crate. When I returned home from work I found his stitches torn and a huge gaping bacteria filled hole in his leg. I took him back to the vet the next day who completely denied the verbal instructions I was given and I was made to pay again to have his leg re-stitched...though it was more like $150 rather than the $2k which the vet said yes they lied about that.

I asked why no written instructions were given, they dont' know in short there should have been... apparently... I don't think I should have had to pay and lo and behold after the 2nd surgery to repair the stitches I was sat down with the other vet to go over instructions AND given written instructions on his care! I feel that I should be refunded the amount of the second surgery and I would NOT under any circumstances recommend you take your family pet to this vet... especially not for anything above filling a frontline or heartworm rx

the usual time frame to go back and have the sutures removed is generally about 10 days. That's usually when they tell you to come back unless there is a reason to do so sooner. Why didn't you leave the collar on until that time? If you were going to take the collar off during that time why not only when the dog was under your DIRECT supervision (not out of your sight for a second)? These would be logical steps to me. It's not likely they ever got that refund. *just my opinions*

I know that everyone at one point or another will have a complaint about how they were treated, or the service they received, etc.
However, I wish to pose a comment regarding your verbal attack toward Morganna.

I have been taking my 2 dogs there regularly for a little over 2 years now. Dr. Wendy Moreland is their primary vet. I have had nothing but the best of experiences with them since day one. the entire staff is very professional and caring and the Dr's there have the utmost concern for the wellbeing of my boys. I would not take them anywhere else.

Did you ever take into concideration that the person you referred to as "Bratty" may have just been having a bad day that day?

I may also note that you are the one that seemed to fail to follow instructions wether written or verbal.

If/when a Dr gives you a E-guard collar it is your responsibility to leave it on and in tact. If you took it off then put the dog in a kennel, what else did you think he/she would do? The dog being in pain or just itching due to the stitches would obviously lick and pull at them as an effort to relieve themselves of the discomfort. I feel that any and every expense you incurred as a result of your own actions is your own fault and should not be used as an excuse to Bash a very very caring facility.

For you to call vet care a total ripoff, your insight is pitifully ignorant anonymous. You further took the collar off.It had a purpose and even if as you say a snotty brat briefly gave you instructions ,you have a mouth and nothing prevented you from asking to speak to the vet or go elsewhere for ongoing care. For that matter you could have found a new vet that day or the next who you felt more comfortable with. The fact is for their education and money spent, vets are great people and furthermore genious if it was not for veterinarians protecting the US food supply you wouldnt be around to type your comment!
