These guys are a Joke! I used to work for them at one time. I am not going out on my own in the Excavating buisness. Number one i dont know about you but asking for a blank signed check for a deposit for a rental should be enough to send them up the river.

I rented a 331 excavator the worse POS i ever ran. Tracks were about ib 1/2 just plain wore out, Fuel gauge did not work, Heater switch is loose, Bucket pins are wore out. I have seen the skid steeers be rented with bald tires, Well guess what? Instead of me playing it smart and not leaving a blank signed check in the cab, i did and they never EVER once contacted me about what the total bill was on the rent.

Now today i received a notice in 8 days a arrest warrent will be filed if i do not pay the 1,300 dollars that Thay FILLED IN ON THE CHECK! The creeps are, in my opinon, breaking the law. I NEVER OKed 1,300 check to be written. They never contacted me about paying them b4 they went and sent in the complaint to magristrate court. The check They Wrote in the amount and sent it in on the 16th of December. This is the 8th of January. Everyone: Never rent from these cheats.

Blank Checks, bad idea

Any time a company or individual asks for a blank check for a deposit, that's a sign something is up and none of it good.

If they haven't cashed the check, put a stop payment on it, but they probably already cashed it.

You might just send a demand letter stating you want your money back, that the equipment rented did not run as expected.

Finally, you could take them to small claims court and sue to get your money back.

Businesses should be able to tell you how many a deposit is, if they ask for a blank check, don't do business with them, they will always rip you off that way.
