The people at Morrow Farrar Jewelers do not know what they are doing!
Instead of taking the jewelry and making a rubbing of it on the jewelers stone to tell what it is made out of, they put acid directly on my jewelry.
When I asked how they were going to fix it, I was told it wasn't their problem.
This is ridiculous!  What ever happened to customer service?  One doesn't have to be a genius to realize when it is their fault!

The item the customer is referring to is a base metal disc that he brought to us to sell.

The item was not in wearable condition when we told him that we would take it to our shop to test.

His statement shows that he is familiar with gold testing procedures.  It did not test as real using acid on the black test stone.

To further verify whether it was or was not a precious metal, we tested the piece with acid.  It was a very thin plating over copper.

The base metal item had no dollar value whatsoever, nor did it have any value as jewelry.  The customer did not have any sentimental attachment to it he was there to sell it.

His first question to us was  What are you going to pay me for ruining my jewelry? He spoke with three of us , including the master goldsmith and his only question was - what were we going to pay him?

He wanted  payment from us for an item that was worth nothing.  We deal with our customers in good faith and we expect the same in return.
