Mosaic Salon & Spa Not honoring their Gift Certificates that specifically do not have an expiration date on them. Avenel New Jersey
I purchased Gift Certificates that the company is not honoring. It has NO
EXPIRATION date on the certificates. I am holding the ORIGINAL certificates. I
first called the place of business and spoke with a representative to see if the
gift certificates were still usable as I was gifting them to my niece for her
21st birthday. The representative asked me to hold on the line as she wanted to
confirm with her supervisor, after 10 minutes on hold she came back on the line
and stated " yes, we they are valid and that the only thing is that you can not
come on a Friday or Saturday to use them". I said thank you and then handed the
certificates to my niece as a birthday gift and said the words "enjoy". My niece
then decides to make an appointment and another woman picks up the phone and
says to first bring the certificates by or fax a copy and they will check if
valid. She was then told that they are too old. When I came to know about this,
I reached out to the owner of the establishment. I left 2 messages and emailed
her twice. Only after my third call, I received a call back from the owner
Katrina. She says she will not honor those certificates as they are too old. I
explained to her that these are original certificates that one of her staff
already verified with their supervisor and that I have already gifted it and she
was really harsh and inconsiderate in her tone. I did not appreciate the
response in such an unprofessional manner, that also from the owner.

The gift certificates do not have an expiration date. I made a call and spoke to someone who went to check with a manager and they said yes, they will honor it. It is a matter of customer service. If you wanted to, you could of accepted it, but instead you handled the situation in a very unprofession and rude manner.

To Whom It May Concern
This email is in reference to the report#1170326 submitted on August 17th, 2014.
The gift certificates which are involved in this matter are not Mosaic Salon & Spa gift certificateds but they are a trade gift certificates released by ITEX/BARTER Company. The gift certificates in question has been released more than 10 years ago and we have no records on file.
Mosaic Salon & Spa policy suggests to our clients that any gift certificates should be redeemed in one year spam but we will still honor them after one year based on if records are available to us.
Normally we keep records for 7-8 years by law and we believe it's more than enough time to redeem any gift certificates. If it comes to etiquette my staff and myself are always pleasant in whatever matter we have to deal with and it is upsetting for our company team or any other companies that there are still people wanting to take advantage of us. People has no consideration, respect and careless to any policies or law in general as long as it's in thier favor.
