In September of 2004 I was referred to Motel 6 in Pigeon Forge. I called and asked for a price for 1 night. I was quoted a price of $24.99 + tax. I reserved the room for the night of November 25th 2004 and was given a confirmation number and the whole bit. I explained to them that I was planning a surprise wedding for what I hope to be my future wife and that was why I only needed the room for 1 night because she would be staying in a cabin and I would check out the next day for our wedding.

Upon my arrival around midnight I gave them my name and told the desk clerk that I had a reservation. The clerk found my name and reservation and proceeded with checking me in. I thought that everything was going fine until I was asked to sign the receipt. That is when I noticed that the total was nearly $56. I questioned this and she said that the rate had gone up. I explained to her that I made the reservation in September and was quoted $24.99.

Instead of making the changes I was forced to pay the higher rate. She said that she did not "lock in" the $24.99 quote. The $56 is not really an issue since you expect to pay a higher rate during peak season. However, when you go and you're expecting a price that is more than half of that it is really a shock. It's like buying a house for $100,000 and at closing being informed that it is $225,000 because your real estate agent didn't "lock in" the price.

I just feel that I was totally mis-lead and that this is a very unprofessional way to do business. Needless to say I WILL NOT stay at Motel 6 in the future.

Everything in Pigeon Forge is owned by foreigners, yankees and floridians. Most of the businesses there aren't owned by locals. The next time you visit Tennessee, stay in Townsend. It's just over the mountain from the Pigeon Forge eyesore. It's much quiter and you can still see the stars at night since we don't feel it necessary to light up the sky. You may still have to deal with a few floridians, yankees and foreigners but at least they know we won't put with behavior like what you had to deal with in Pigeon Forge. Pigeon Forge sucks anyways.

GOD BLESS!
