This is my correspondance with Robert Reil between Mon, May 31, 2010 to Tue, Jun 8, 2010.  I ordered a part but measured it incorrectly and paid $65.00 USD for the parts.  I tried to determine the correct part but did not receive a response - end of communication.  As of today June 16 I have heard nothing from Mr. Reil and have not received a refund.

Hello there.  I have a 1981 Yamaha Maxim XJ550 and am looking for the parts in the attached photo (3 pieces).  The carb is a Mukuni BS28mm. The complete unit is shown on the left.  I am having a heck of a time finding these parts.  Please help if you can.  Thanks.  Doug

Robert - This is a Mikuni BS series Pilot screw, washer, oring, and spring assy.

I need to know in MM how long the screw is. 20.6, 22.0, or 25.0mm in length. I think it will be 20.6. I need you to be sure.

Hello there.  I appears to be 20.5 mm.  Also, yes it is the BS28 Mikuni Carb.  There appears to be many different names for the part including Pilot Needle Screw, Fuel to Air Screw and Fuel Mix screw.  Cheers,  Doug

Robert Reil - You are correct. All of those names are correct.
Pilot Screw, Fuel Screw, Mixture Screw.

http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/Fuel_Mixture_Screws_Suzuki_GS_P11699.cfm is the same screw.

http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/CARBURETOR_REPAIR_KIT_SUZUKI__P5191.cfm contains the spring, washer, and oring.

Robert Reil - At this time I don't know what spring or oring to sell you individually.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much.  I just checked and it appears that the BS28 Carb
is used on the 2009 Kawasaki Eliminiator 125.  Is this the same screw?  Cheers Doug

Robert Reil - No idea. It probably was changed and the eliminator is too new to be able to get a kit from and I bet Kawasaki does not sell the screw.

As long as you are confident that the 9715 screw is the same part I will order them.  The photo of the kit doesn't show the pilot screw.
Would hate order the wrong parts again.  I do have springs two rubber washers and two small metal washers but hope that they will come as a set.  I am little confused about what the aluminum plug is.  Cheers, Doug (I ordered the part and paid $65.00 USD)

I made a big screw up.  I had a brain fart and measured 20.5 mm when it should have been 25mm.  Sorry for the confusion.  Could you substitute the parts or do you have to cancel the order and provide me with a new part number?  Please let me know and sorry for the inconveniece. Cheers,  Doug

Robert Reil - Please be VERY sure of the length. You went down two rabbit holes and this is going to be much work to adjust your order on my end. Please be TRIPPLE sure on your screw length.

Maybe the confusion is in the measurement.  Do I measure the entire length of the part from top to end.  Cheers,  Doug

Here is a photo of the part beside a ruler.  Cheers,  Doug

Hello again.  Just checking to find out if the part I ordered is correct.  Please let me know.  Thanks.  Doug

Robert,

I appreciate the help you have offered over the past while especially the fact that you replied on Memorial day.  I am behind schedule
getting the bike on the road for my wife and didn't expect the carb to be a problem since it was overhauled by a mechanic last summer
(perhaps not much of one).

I really would apreciate just a brief update on progress to filling my order so that I can plan a stragety if you do not have the parts.  I
may have to start searching for a used carb and hope that the parts are in good shape.  My wife and I are going into the City on Saturday (don't go that often) and I could drop by the motorcycle wreckers to look for the carb.

Thank you.

Robert,

Hello Bob.  Just following up on the status of my order.  I read you conditions and understand if you take 20% because I cancelled the
order.  I would very much appreciate it if you provide me with the credit.  I am very interested in vintage bikes and have many projects on the go and would like to use you as a parts source if we can establish a good working relationship.

Kind Regards,

Bob,

It is most unfortunate that you insist on stealing money from people.
This morning I read the following reports from customers you have
taken.

Please be advised that if you do not refund my money by the end of tomorrow I will post warnings on every vintage motorcycle forum I can find about your disreputable practices.
