Complaint Review: Motti Vaknin aka Motti Varkin / International Services Co. aka International Carpet

Motti Vaknin allowed Shon Makaton to use his license to contract business illegally. He knows what he was/is doing is illegal, but doesn't care.

When we called to ask if Shon worked for him, he told us he did and that it was okay for Shon to use his license, but we found out later it's not. Shon is not listed as personel under his license and is not qualified to be a salesman, architect, contractor or general manager.

Business flyer says "No subcontractors! We do it all!", yet subcontractors were hired to work on our home. When we confronted Shon, Motti's "employee" with this, he claimed they were not subcontractors. We finally got him to admit they were, but he still argued there was nothing wrong with hiring them claiming "all contractors do it". Wrong, all contractors do not commit fraud and hire unqualified people to work for them.

Motti will not take responsibility for his part in this fraud. Shon admitted to us that Motti had prepared a letter telling Shon he could no longer use his license and dated it 6 months prior so that we "could not touch him".

Ignorance is bliss, till you have the DA knocking on your door for fraud...
