I began work for this company on 5/28/2017 as a web developer, designer, marketing, and basically secretary as well.  When I was hired, I was hire primarily to handle the setup of their new website which was eCommerce.  Next thing you know, I'm handling orders and dealing with shipping labels and all kinds of issues that were not in my job description.  Mind you, I started at $10 and was promised over and over that I would quickly get a raise.

Since I was handed the duties of secretary b***h, I was able to have access to the owners email.  I discovered that the company owed 10's of thousands of dollars to all kinds of manufacturers and everyone under the sun.  I also discovered that there were a tremendous amount of complaints against this company about their products.  Apparently their products did not hold the kind of quality that they guaranteed.  And the sad thing is that the owners would get angry with the customers and actually not handle most of the complaints.  It was just to bad for some of  the customers.

Now remember the date of when I started, the first time I got paid was on 6/30/2017.  They said it was because of the "Net 30" when you start.  The check was for only $370.  $370!!!

Anyways, I was naive and I kept going with the company.  They kept promising it would get better and better.  Out of the blue one day, I'm asked if I can go on a trip for the company to Florida with one of the owners of the company.

Guess what we did in Florida?  We installed 1 bed in a customers house.  That's it.  6 days away from home for that.  You know what the rest of the time was?  I had  to babysit the owner.  See her husband didn't come.  I am 31 years old and she is 57, and I'm fairly tall and good looking.  So my trip then entailed that I drive her to places like Michaels and all kinds of of places in that genre.

She spent the entire rest of the trip, in our B&B, playing with this machine that is called a Criket (which is actually cool) cutting out logos (which I designed) and doing other crafts.  Having me go  with her to lunch or dinner everyday.   I worked diligently during the day so that I would have something to do.  But here I am, a developer who should be making 3x more an hour than what they are paying me and they are saying right now they can't afford it, yet she takes a d**n vacation using company money buying whatever the hell  she wants while I have to stand around half the time for no reason..

I finally get back from Florida.  I take the rest of the day off.  I start getting calls at 5pm asking me to preform work.  I also start getting messages from them via FB messenger at 10:26pm.  The owner, she, has the audacity to post a snarky response to a post I made about having to get up so early.  And then demanding that I had over work.... that I HAD ALREADY TURNED OVER..  At that point I told her that this releationship was over.

So now I get a message from her on FB messenger saying that if I don't do x, y, and z that I won't get paid for my time or the work that I have already done

The same thing happens with their General Manager, trying to  bully me into turning in work, that I had already sent them via email and messenger.

They used my work, and logos at a convention without any permission given by me.  And of course, they did not pay me.

That is how dumb these people are.

So I decided to call G*** who is somewhat level headed.  And I go in and I have a talk with him.  I made sure to turn my voice reocrder on when I did this.  He guarantees that he is going to pay me every penny he owes me on the 17th of July.

So I go in on July 17th with my time sheet and he says, well  I can't pay you all of that.  I will write you a $500 check now.

It was a hot check, and it bounced.  I turned it into the prosecuting attorny and they are filing charges and now I have filed a civil suit for what they owe me plus damaged.  What I have on recording, which is legal in my state, will absolutely burry.

I worked for two months with this company, 40+ hours a week.  The total pay I recieved from this company, was $370.

DO NO MESS WITH THIS COMPANY!  PLAIN AND SIMPLE.  CROOKS

Not an Employee - Unsatisfactory Work

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, July 23, 2017

For the record, Mr Ruesink aka Miles, was never a employee of MOAB, Inc.. he was an independent contractor asked to do specific tasks.
Any claim to any title as an employee of MOAB, Inc., is a fabrication. We have documents and witnesses to prove he was an independent contractor not an employee. Being a independent contractor/janitor at Walmart doesn't make me Walmart's CEO.
It is unfortunate that a business has to deal with this kind of reaction when we hold a independent contractor responsible for the quality of their work. No business should feel obligated to pay for work that is not produced to the quality they expect from a contractor. For the record Mr. Ruesink aka Miles work was sub-standard and not completed to my satisfaction and pay must be re-adjusted accordingly.
