Complaint Review: Mountain Cat Construction

I warn against hiring Terry Harkrader or Mountain Cat Construction LLC (The Dalles, OR) as he does low quality work and does not live up to his commitments.   I hired him to install a metal roof and snow proof gutters on my simple house with only two slopes, one skylight and one chimney.  No gables or valleys.  Completion was 2 months later then promised.

With the first major rain it leaked real bad.  After repeated contacts he made 2 attempts to fix and was 95% successful.  He said full repair would have to wait until Spring.  In December snow destroyed the gutters.  He committed to fixing the remaining leak and replacing the gutters in the Spring.

I called him multiple times through the Spring, Summer, & Fall.  Each resulted in a sob story why he didnt show up as promised, followed with a new commitment.  This cycle repeated until September 09 when he stopped returning my calls (contractor board limits formal complaint period to 1 yr from completion). 

He is a slick talker but a non-performer.  In my opinion you should take your business elsewhere!
