Mountain Home Utopia incompetent businessman west jefferson, North Carolina
Purchased a gas fireplace including installation on July 1, 2011. Many weeks passed before it was installed. And then the trouble began, it never would stay lit. The grout around the fire place was the wrong color and texture. After 41 phone calls to the business, 3 visits, 9 service visits, 5 scheduled service visits in which he never called or showed up the owner stated that he had spent enough money trying to get this fireplace to work and would do no more. During this process I had been in communication with the manufacturer, Regency fireplaces, the head technician thought he knew what the problem was but Mountain Home would not talk to him and would not listen. Finally Regency sent the regional sales representative and a different local dealer who had the unit repaired and running in two hours. The problem was faulty installation. Mountain Home agreed to refund 1/3 of the price and gave me a check on Dec. 9 for $1,100. The check is no good!
