On November 12, 2012, Move West unloaded my furniture into my new home without issue, until they tried to move the refrigerator into the house. Two employees tried pushing the refrigerator thought the front door on several occasions. In one instance, the employes attempted to push the appliance through front door of the house, with the refrigerator doors open. After seeing the struggle, the primary employee (Robert) stated that the refrigerator doors should be removed.

After removing the doors, the refrigerator was easily moved into the home. After re-attaching the doors, it was noted the the refrigerator doors and freezer doors were badly scratched. I asked that Move West replace the doors due to the negligence of their employees, since they were scratched down to the bare metal. Mr Showery is attempting to claim that the damage is a generalize risk assumed when moving and that I will be responsible for a $500 deductible on the insurane claim for the replacement.

Since when does a consumer assume liability for negligence on the part of the contractor's employees/contracted employees?
