Remember that show on 20/20 that touted the ripoff tactics of movers? Well, this company used every trick in the book on me!!!
First --- they overcharged me by about $3,000 (claimed I was overweight!!! oh-then they needed more packing materials -- I saw the weight of the truck at delivery, NOT TRUE).
Next --- gave me several different dates for delivery. Didn't show. I was about 1,000 miles away and waiting, and they had not even left Dallas...no communication to let me know, either.
Here is the absolute WORST>... When they finally got on their way, the driver blew a tire on the trailer in MS, about 100 miles away from destination. The company would not pay the company who fixed the tire, so that company confiscated the trailer. MOVERS4U wanted ME to "wire the money $800 to the driver to get the trailer out of hock" ----meanwhile, I contact the company who fixed it, who told me they were only charging $600. (And would have only charged $500, but got tired of waiting for payment on the side of the road.

Long story short, after calling local law enforcement and even the FBI, I went to MS, paid the man w/ the trailer and followed the driver to my home. This was only the end of one very long nightmare. Buyer beware, and unfortunately, we did not hire the company, it was a subcontract of another company (Global Moving Inc., out of Brooklyn) which also was of no help to us.
