Movie Gallery unrealistic expectations-running the company into the ground Dothan Alabama
I have worked for this company for 9 years. Let me say i used to love my job,but over the last few months the company has brought in a new rdo- rex hayes. He was a former circuit city employee if my information is correct. He has made it impossible to enjoy my job any longer. Everyday store mgrs and dm are threatened with their jobs. If comps are made, If we dont have 3 presales a day"yes I said per day", He has done nothing but terminate hardworking and honest people, that have dedicated years to making Movie Gallery better. Just recently a dm was let go for some bogus reasons. I personally know this person and no they did not deserve to get fired. He was a great dm and probably one of the best. MR. HAYES is on some kind of severe power trip and is going to eventually run his region into the ground.By the way some of the people he fired were replaced with ex- circuit city employees, sound a little fishy to me.
The economy is bad, we all know that. In my town the jobless rate is near 20 percent- He sees that as no excuse as to why are business is slower than average. My store in-particular has always done well with special programs, most recently Power Play. We have always been in the top 20 percent of the entire company, but apparently the numbers do not matter to this guy. Store MGR are required to work 45 hrs, WHICH I DONT HAVE ISSUES WITH, but when i have to work 60 plus to control payroll and i dont get paid then yes that pisses me off. Instead of spending money on stupid marketing flyers and stupid commercials, They need to spend money on there employees, that dedicated their time to the "dictators"- rex has never worked in a Movie Gallery store, if had then he would know you cannot force people to buy when they do not have the money to spend.
I know that is what retail business is, dont get me wrong, but this country is trying to regain itself and it will take time. So stop threating good people with their jobs on a daily basis!
