Beware of Ewing Miles Brown and Movie Tech Studios. They are professional CONS, they will ask you to invest in movies, blow your money and you will never see a dime. They have no intention of paying you back. Ewing "Lucky" Brown does his own acting so he can leave his legacy and the Movies are horrible. In 2002 I invested 25K in two movies. "Stoneman and Dismembered" There were some good actors in the Movies, Pat Morita, Christopher Atkins and others. Movie Tech was to Make the first movie, release it to thearters and use the profit and investment to make the second movie. Ewing Brown, split the money between the two movies!

While acting as the lead in the second movie, made a horrible film. He then released the movie to DVD companies. The investors where to be repaid 100 percent before the Studio got a dime. To this day, no one got a red cent but Ewing Brown. Both movies are out all over the world on DVD. Ewing Brown Denied the movies were releases and said, they were Pirated! He breached our contract! What a Liar, Net flix, Muze and others do not pirate Movies.  This guy now has made "Merlin and Friend", not sure of the current status of the Movie but I can Say, NEVER GIVE THEM A DIME. The whole process is set up to keep your money! Heck I was never given a DVD!! You would think I could atleast get a copy of the movie I paid for!

Crooks, Robbers, CONS! Ewing should be ashamed, Came from a good family, been in Hollywood for ever and is taking advantage of people who made him...Fans!  I was injured in the military, they contacted me and guaranteed me money returned and a life of legacy with a couple movies to pass to my family and get my money returned with profit! All I had was the 25k, no more, they put my net worth on the application as 750k to qualify me for the investment, I never told them that. They took my retirement money. Now they do not even return my calls. I have not even got my K-1 tax documents for 2010. He took our money and is still making movies with peoples money and has no plan to ever give it back. BEWARE, These guys are CONS!!

Movie Tech Studios Ewing Miles Brown. RETRACTION

Although you cannot remove a report once filed, you can update it.

I filed a report on Movie Tech Studios. I invested in two Movies, Stoneman and Dismembered. I have been waiting for the Movie to be released and to see a return on my investment. Tax forms have been sent out on an annual Basis and no significant losses were noted. I began to get concerned when a saw these films released on DVD. I made some calls to Movie Tech but always seemed to miss my connection. In haste, I contacted an L.A. Entertainment attorney and He assured me that I was duped and Lost my Money. I was told this was common practice in Hollywood. He, told me if I would deposit $3000 in his account, he would write some letters to Movie Tech and in hopes, retrieve SOME of my money. This also sounded Fishy to me, so I was referred to RipOff Reports to file my initial report on Movie Tech and Ewing Brown.
I emailed the Report to Movie Tech and made some calls. I eventually spoke with the Staff and Mr. Brown who set my mind at ease and explained the the terms and procedures of the contract, and what was being done to get the movies on the market and updated.
It became clear that a Previous employee, who initially contacted me and worked to get my investment was promising the moon and misinformed me about the procedures of the contract terms and how the release of the movies would be initiated. The PREVIOUS employee more or less made it seem that we would have a Block Buster, world Premiere and be walking the Red Carpet with the rest of Hollywood. Although the Movies are great, he overstated the expectations.  I understand Now why he is no longer employed by Movie Tech and Mr. Brown.
The entertainment attorney really pumped me up and I acted out of fear and ignorance when filing the Report, after all, it was all I had.
Mr. Brown contacted me and we spoke. I have met him and his wife as I was at the shooting of the films. They are down to Earth..GREAT folks and I feel Bad about the report I filed. What is Done cannot be reversed but I would like to apologize for acting in such Haste.  Mr. Brown assured me they were working hard on the Movies and New release efforts. He told me the Shares were in demand that there were others who would like to have them. Sure enough, I recieved a couple offers for my Shares from others and accepted. My shares were purchased from me. If, I were not a recently disabled from Military service and was in a better financial situation, I would have kept the shares and waited for the movie to be re-edited and released. It would have been nice to leave a permanent part to my children.
I take this time to express my deepest apologies to Mr. Ewing Mile Brown and Movie Tech Studios. They have upheld their end of the contract. Written contracts matter, broken promises by hasty previous employees and attorneys only create heartache.
Thank YOU, Mr. Brown for the sincere opportunity to be a part in the Film industry and Good Luck in the endeavors or Movie Tech.

Why I invested my money.  You are right, smooth talkers. I was fresh out of service, I was severely injured, had no income, my wife left me with two young kids. When I left the military, it took me many months to get an income. I am still not allowed to work, have had 14 surgeries and living on a government pension.  I trusted Ewing Brown and his staff, with names like Pat Morita and Christopher Atkins, I thought this was a sure thing. I wanted something in my life to leave my sons, other than a scarred, crippled memory of a Dad. I was excited as I always dreamed of being envolved in films. I even flew out to meet the cast and got a short shot in the film.  They misrepresented their actions. If they would have completed the first film with all the money invested, released it and used the money to re-invest in the second, I think it would have worked. However Ewing got in a hurry and used the money for both films, did not seek to release it properly and never did a premier as promised. He has always promised to get the film sold. I found the movies on Netflix and Ebay. I contacted Mr. Brown only to be told that he knew nothing of the DVD release? We know this is a lie, Netflix and Muze do not run Pirated Films. Contract states, the investors will be paid 100 percent before anyone gets money on these films, however, thousands of DVDs are out there and Mr,Brown still denies the release and is keeping the money.

I just wanted a chance to make my own legacy, make some money and leave something of myself for my kids. I trusted them but now have nothing, not even a copy of the DVDs. Thanks for the reply to this report.
