I have changed my mind about Moviepass. I Just got an email that MoviePass is raising my monthly rate to $99. I believe that is Greedy, Selfish, and BAD customer service. You want to increase brand loyalty but you do this to faithful customers? You are supposed to reward the people who have been with you since the beginning. Not constantly RAISE their rates.

I am Extremely disappointed! You promised "Unlimited Movies" Then you punish the customers who have been with you since the beginning by tripling their rates.

My Lawyer tells me that I may have a case for a class action suit against you for leading me on stating "Unlimited Movies" and then punishing me for using my moviepass too much. This is fraudulent advertising. Promoting one price on the website and pushing out existing customers by tripling the price for them.

Also, I noticed on your facebook page, That you state you would have "tier pricing" Tier 3 markets: $21 for 2 movies; $31 for 3 movies; $50 for unlimited. Yet you are trying to raise my rate to $99.

You have already raised my rates once this year. I would ask that you please leave my account alone and stop trying to Harass me by constantly raising my rates. If you continue this harassment I will be forced to join others in a Class Action Lawsuit. We will also begin a social media battle against your fraudulent practices and tell our Friends, Family and anyone who will listen to cancel their subscriptions and suggest to possible new members not to subscribe.

I apologize for the tone of this email but you have angered many of us and left us no choice but to respond in kind.

Please let me know that you care about your customers and that you will not attempt to punish us for using the service you promised.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Leo Lopez

Your "attorney" may need to take another look at the terms you agreed to.

Unless there was something in that agreement that GUARANTEED unlimited movies at a specific price for a specific amount of time it is very likely that as long as they notify you(which they did) that they can change their rates and service.

For example if you paid the January fee for unlimited movies and watched 50 movies, they can't come back to you in January and say that you watched too many movies and you need to pay more for January.  However, they can then say starting in Feburary Unlimited movies will now cost you a new (higher) amount.

Once you get this notice it is then up to you to either accept the new rate or cancel your subscription.  Forcing a company to keep rates at a certain amount or provide a certain level of service when they have made no such agreement is not an option and while I won't say it is impossible that you would prevail in any sort of case.  If you think a "Class Action Lawsuit" is some knight in shining armor, realize that the average suit(if it ever makes it to "Class" status) is about 3-5 years and the only ones who make any money is the attornies involved.

Now, of course you are free to start what ever "petition" or social media campaign you want, but things like this hasn't worked against much bigger companies that have raised their rates in the past.  So it may make you feel better, just don't expect miracles.
