I thought getting the middle-priced quote from several moving companies was the smart thing to do. Not with Moving Seagull. They first tried to charge me so much extras on pick up while threatening to pull out. Then they keep my stuff for 2 weeks too long before finally delivering with same threats over non-sense added costs. They get you all riled up with these crazy charges (each step is a "flight" of stairs taht needs to be charged extra!). They dented and broke ALL of my 3 floor lamps and my 19" TV. Scuffed and scratched all of my new furniture, snagged the corners of my leather seats and futon, broke a wall outlet, dirtied the carpet, didn't reassemble the furniture per contract until I insisted (they did it halfway through making tables wobbly). Then LOST 3 of 41 boxes!

Following up this situation took forever as John, the person "in-charge" was aways out. Afte 2 weeks of incessantly calling them, I was referred to a "Customer Service" 1-800 number and that would take care of everything> NOT! That number was just an answering machine that spoke HEBREW! No speaka english there! Then after 5 weeks of follow-up the left me a voicemail saying that they can't find my boxes so I needed to place aclaim to their "Claims Department".

This is a separate company called Anthem Claims Management that had a clueless girl answer the phone with just a "hello" just like one answers his home phone. She promised me an email that I never got then I finally talked to another lady who finally sent me the claim instructions.

Meanwhile, Google turns up several horror stories about this outfit so I don't know where this will lead to.

I'm now trying to sort out the inventory of my lost items and will update this story soon. Needless to say: BEWARE!
