Apologize for my English as it is my second Language !
To all it may concerns:
On the week on May 23rd, I shopped around for a moving company to move my daughter from Houston, TX to Denver, CO (1 bedroom apt).
One of the company I ended up to deal with is MovingCost Nationwide Relocation. I talked to Mr. Keith Ezrol (1-888-219-7171 ext. 528) sales representative and, unfortunately I trusted him about the goodness of his company and how sharks are his competitors, his words. That he uses nationally recognized truck company with highly professional movers. So, I explained him about my restrictions for the move, that were:
can't move in (in Denver) on the week end. Only from M-F from 8:30am to 4:30pm
need 2 days advance notice to reserve a freight elevator (for a not-refundable fee of $75) to go up to the 10th floor.
pick up dates any time. Everything was already packed, boxed and ready to go
move-in dates, in Denver, Jun 13 or Jun 14 (my plan was to drive with my daughter in Denver during the week-end of 6/11-6/12, spend one or two nights in a hotel in Denver, settle my daughter in the apt, and fly back to Houston on 6/15/05).
Keith said that, after consulted with his truck company (Quick Move from Dallas, what a joke!!!), the delivery days of Jun 13 or Jun 14 was doable, however on the contract he had to show 10 days windows (and don't believe what other companies say, they are a bunch of liars that rip you off your money, he said!!!). So the delivery dates on the contract was 6/10/05-6/21/05 (11 days and not 10), but I should have not to be worry about because he had commitment from his trucker that, provided the load was happening on 6/8/05 or 6/9/05, that there were no thunderstorms on the road, no accidents or act of God, the delivery on June 13 or 14 was practically guaranteed! I said the load or pick up could happen earlier without any issue; he said that the dates of Jun8 or Jun 9 were more than enough. I insisted to pick up the furniture earlier but I was not successful, so I trusted him.
On May 27 I signed the contract with pick up dates either 6/8 or 6/9 and delivery within 6/10-6/21 (but remember verbal agreement for 6/13 or 6/14).
On the evening of Jun 6 a truck driver or dispatcher from QuickMove called me asking if he can come to load on 6/7 (a day earlier than anticipated) because he had a truck in the area. I consulted with my daughter, took a day off from work and wait for these gentlemen . Around 11:30am of 6/7 I called the customer service asking about the truck, after few calls back and forth I was told they were very sorry but they were running late but on 6/8 early in the morning they would have been in my place to load (one point, I always, always had to call their customer service, never, never, some one bother to call for an update). Through Keith I had the phone nbr of Chuck (the truck dispatcher) to check directly with him about the truck.
I took another day off, 6/8/05, but nothing happened. After I called Chuck few times he said the contract said the load was happening the 6/8 or 6/9, so from his point of view all was OK; but he forgot that one of his guy told me that he wanted to come on the 6/7, what a jerk!!! So he said that by 9 pm of the 8th the truck should be at my place. Well, I called at 10:15pm, just to be said that they were late and were coming the next morning, of course nobody took any action to call the customer.
To make a long story short, they came on the evening on 6/9/05 (still on time by the letter of the contract) and left my place in Houston around 7:45pm.
As God planned, my daughter and I, left Houston on Saturday 6/11 and arrived in Denver of 6/12 and stay in a hotel.
Nevertheless to say that on Monday 6/13 nothing happened. I called Keith who re-routed me through his customer service, which serves nothing because they know nothing. I called Chuck, just to be told that the truck was still in Dallas and was coming to Denver before the week end, I reminded him about the restrictions for moving in, and he was OK. I extended the hotel booking, change the flight to Houston for the week end, with all the associated expenses. On Thursday 6/16/05 I checked again about the phantom truck Keith and his useless customer service (954-776-0737) which serves nothing - mean while just washed their hands, they had received their compensation of ~30%, all was in the hands of some bandits at QUICKMOVE . Chuck passed me on Derrick, I understood he is his boss or a manager there. Derrick said they where running late (no apology, no sorry, of course) and they should be in Denver between Monday and Wednesday (6/20/05 6/22/05), I said that Wed was out of the window indicated on the contract, well get this, he said the time windows was only an estimate (why have such kind of contract, I challenged its validity, but do not have time for that) so they can go to infinity!!! JERKS!!!
That same Thursday I had to arrange for my son to fly to Denver with all the associate costs - because I could not stay for the next week, to help the sister.
On Friday, after I called of course, Derrick said they would be in Denver on Monday 6/20/05 am. I made sure I understood, he said that there was no problem and the truck should have be in Denver on Monday 6/20/05. I booked the freight elevator, paid not refundable $75 and left for Houston while my son was coming in Denver.
The saga is not finished yet. In fact on Monday these gentlemen did not show up and neither called.
My daughter called just to be said there should be in Denver on Tuesday 6/22/05 (today), re-booked the freight elevator. Finally they came this morning and, get this one, they charged an extra $178 because the freight elevator is, I don't know , how many feet from the road.
I instructed my children to pay them, have the furniture delivered, check the conditions, and have them to leave in peace, bottom line the two guys are only two soldiers.
The problem is at Ft. Lauderdale and in Dallas where the scam resides.
However 2 lamps and 2 boxes are missing.
At the end to $AVE a couple of hundreds dollars with another moving company with full of sharks as Keith said I ended up with:
8 days off work, instead of 3
10 days in hotel with restaurants meal twice a day fro 2 persons
extra cost to change the flight back to Houston
flight cost for my son plus lodging and meal for 4 days
extra 178$ because the elevator was some how far from the road I ask, where are the sharks? at MovingCost or other company? I think you figured it out now!
This is a company with no integrity whatsoever!!!
