Moving Scam

This is What Tim Walker so called fonder and Administrator of the web site MovingScam.com said: This web site has absolutely no corporate affiliations or sponsors and is dependent on people who are kind enough to make a personal donation. Anything that donations do not cover I have pay for out of my own pocket and have done so for over two years in the interest of protecting consumers from these scams.

MovingScam.com has received national attention from newspapers and other forms of media that couldn't discover the real truth in my opinion- the site and Mr. Tim Walker is sponserd by a privet moving organization.

Well Just follow the comments you will notice that most of them race related, you will also notice the strong present of a few major Van Lines affiliates, such as:

Josh Taylor from Taylor teem Relocation agent for Berman Moving & Storage, Inc in Bedford, OH. A UNITED VAN LINES, INC Agent.

Lee Cliff from Chapman Moving & Storage, Inc 1521 Buena Vista Ave Alameda, CA. Also a UNITED VAN LINES, INC Agent. And some other sales representatives from private moving companies.

Anyone can post a massage on the site, with any information about a moving company, the massage can be something totally false information and false claims against hard working honest people, however they will post it whether it is truth or not (try it).

Tim Walker and his gang are the one how don't care. They are hiding behind this site with a sign says:we are Angels, we want to save you well it is all a huge scam.

If you try to write something which is true and make sense however against those companies' that Mr. Walker represents he will not post it. This is cheep propaganda, dedicated to achieve things like: getting sales leads for their agents, and to provide bad publicity for their competitors. Tim Walker Is corrupted man and he is sponsored by a nationwide private moving company, DO NOT TRUST him or the site!!!

Sharon/Music Mom- You are SO defensive and hostile!

Dear Sharon,

I've noticed your numerous comments on many of the movers rip off reports and I'd like to tell you that you are the MOST negative and skeptical person I've ever read a posting from.
If you'd like creditability and people to hear what your saying then STOP attacking people who post. Your attacks are directed at anyone who has anything positive to say about a moving company and/or moving scams/Tim Walker.
Guess what Sharon.. Not everyone agrees with you.
Allow others to express themselves without your negative input.

I've read you are paid by moving scams to reply to postings on that site, are you also employed by this site? I can't understand why you spent so much of your time posting such negativity all over the web. There are good moving companies and not just the ones you endorse on moving scams.

You attack people personally- in many of your postings you accuse the person of not using their real name: as you did here. Just stop the attacks! You have NO first hand acknowledge of any of these situations so stop attacking and spreading your negativity. You are not helping anyone. You are only adding to the problem.
Who cares if someone makes a spelling error or grammar error. Anyone who reads the posting will know it. Do you have to attack anyone with a minor spelling or grammar error in their posting?
Who cares about that?

Leah is in titled to her feelings. She has just as much right as you Sharon to post her feelings and experiences. I'm an outsider to this situation and I can tell you that after reading and reviewing this site and doing the same with moving scams I can see her point. Moving companies do not seem to get a fair opportunity to express themselves or respond to postings on moving scams. They are ATTACKED WITH GUNS BLAZING! Discredited without creditable reasons: this was the case in numerous situations that I read tonight.
Music Mom- you Sharon were the worst out of anyone. Just plain negative and attacking.

Personally I'm exhausted from reading your postings. I was attempting to use this site as a tool to research moving companies. However, you have clouded any fair evaluation that I could make.

This Site RipOff has numerous complaints about major vanlines, your site seems to promote the vanlines

Tim,

I have been on your site, it seems the major vanlines are heavily pushed along with ABF on your site, especially United, Mayflower and Atlas.

I see plenty of complaints on this site RIP OFF REPORT about Major Van Lines. People that go on your site are always get pushed from an independent to a Major Van Line.

It seems that most of the posts are from the same people either volunteers or your employees. There is alot of helpfu information on your site but it seems on your site that the majors can do no wrong.

Time to come clean. Can you list who sponsors your site? Consumers or Major Van Lines?

Is there any truth to what Leah said? are you being investigated by the IRS?

Tim Walker Scam is out in the open

#9Consumer Comment

To Mr Tim Walker and his crwe of movers:

Tim Walkers confession:

It is true that anyone can post on the message boards,

There are in fact more moving company representatives than the ones you pointed out who give of their time freely on the message boards who represent several companies. They do so because of their passion for what they do and because they care that consumers are treated appropriately by the moving company that they chose, The moving company representatives have done an outstanding job of guiding consumers towards the best companies for their move other than their own. In other words, they are not allowed to profit from MovingScam.com.

This is such B.S

Mr Walker this is one of the posts on your objective and honest massage board.

David,

You have plenty of honest and good movers in Atlanta, the tick as your finding out is to find them. You do this by staying off the internet in regards to going to such sites as monster or moving.com. Although you can find a good mover from those sites if you dont know who to ask for a quote from then you can run into the situation your in.

I would recommend looking in your phone book for your local United, Atlas, North American, Allied, Graebel agents to start. I am sure Diane can offer more info for them.

Remember these are recommendations to at least get quotes from.

Best of luck,

Well Mr Walker

Please try to explain how this is not done in order to achieve leads and profit, you know it, I know it and soon a lot of other people will know the truth: you are sponsored by a private moving organization. The IRS has also received information in regards for your so called donations, let see what the audit on your account's will discover. Are you going to share that information on your misleading Web site.

P. s I must add that some of the information on the site is correct, and helps some pepole, however; the point is that this is not done only from the goodness of your hart, you represant a moving company , a large one and your web site is a profitable organization that generate funds from private moving organizations.

Get it Right

#9REBUTTAL Individual responds

Wed, March 17, 2004

Leah,

First of all, the least you could do is get your facts straight as to whom you allege is associated with movingscam.com.

There is no Lee Cliff and there is no Chapman Moving and storage, as you allege here. "Lee Cliff from Chapman Moving & Storage, Inc 1521 Buena Vista Ave Alameda, CA. Also a UNITED VAN LINES, INC Agent."

First of all, my name is Leander D. Williams, and I work for Chipman Relocations, which is absolutely an agent of United Van Lines. As for the rest of your fictional statements, I have never been compensated by movingscam.com, and wouldn't take it if it was offered. I have been in this business for 15 years. I worked for a company that started in the back of a pickup truck by a disabled veteran, who had the strongest business morals of any person I have known. When health caused him to sell his business to Chipman in 2002, Chipman asked me to come aboard. I checked before I accepted. I have known Chipman for many years, but I investigated to make sure their integrity was just as strong.

My company is aware of my volunteering my time on movingscam. And, I probably spend more time helping while on the clock than I should, but there has never been any mention of it. But you see, honest companies are not afraid of the limelight or being in the spotlight... Not when they have nothing to hide. My company, and United Van Lines in particular, do not now, and have never sponsored movingscam. So cut the bogus information that movingscam is moving industry or even privet company sponsored. The cheep propaganda is that which you have published in trying to smear the movingscam.com website.

There are people who are just as dedicated to fighting corruption in the moving industry THAT WORK FOR MOVERS, as there are movers who try to steal, lie, and exploit the innocent moving public.

None of us in the moving industry that donate our time have ever said call my company and we'll handle it. We might mention our VAN LINE when mentioning the companies to obtain estimates from, but we don't care who gets the move, as long as it is a good move.

So get your facts straight before you start bashing Tim and his website, and us who give freely of our time with no expectations.

And by the way, I have an extra copy of Hooked on Phonics should you wish to improve your grammar.

And which moving company do you work for?

#9Consumer Suggestion

Leah,

I'm don't really think anyone here will believe a thing you've said. First of all, I have to note (and please, people, don't bash me, it's personal observation) that your particular grammar and spelling mistakes are the same as those found in comments from the scam movers that MovingScam.com helps people to avoid. There is no race-related bashing, it just so happens that a lot of the scam companies are indeed owned by Israeli immigrants. And while any comments against scammers to this affect can seem anti-Semetic, I assure you, it's not. Just look at the numbers. As for Tim spreading propaganda, that's just complete bulls*#t.

MovingScam is not affiliated with any moving company, it just happens that there are several people who work for moving companies that post there. They give valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes work, and great suggestions for people who are moving. They do not advertise their own companies, and any company that tries to advertise has their post removed. Anyone can post there as long as they follow these rules, Tim does not "not post" what he disagrees with. Any post is immediately readable, there is no screening going on.

Leah, if this is your real name, I don't really see the point in you trying to bad-mouth Tim Walker and MovingScam.com. They are helping a lot of families put their life back together after having been scammed. I myself post there under the name of MusicMom, and I am very glad to do so. I have learned a lot since joining there, and I think that many other people can do the same.

Re: MovingScam.com

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sat, March 13, 2004

Dear Leah,

Let me start with some facts:

1) I stand by what you pointed out that I said; "[MovingScam.com] has absolutely no corporate affiliations or sponsors and is dependent on people who are kind enough to make a personal donation. Anything that donations do not cover I have pay for out of my own pocket and have done so for over two years in the interest of protecting consumers from these scams." I did say that simply because it is the truth.

2) Again, you are correct that MovingScam.com has in fact received national attention from newspapers and other media. The reason that they didn't discover that "Mr. Tim Walker is sponserd by a privet moving organization" is because that is a blatantly false accusation without any merit. You cannot discover something that does not exist.

3) There are in fact more moving company representatives than the ones you pointed out who give of their time freely on the message boards who represent several companies. They do so because of their passion for what they do and because they care that consumers are treated appropriately by the moving company that they chose.

To respond to your later accusation that myself or these representatives are directing consumers to their own companies is again a complete falsification of what they do. I do not allow any moving company representative to suggest that a consumer look to their own company as a possible choice for their move. The moving company representatives have done an outstanding job of guiding consumers towards the best companies for their move other than their own. In other words, they are not allowed to profit from MovingScam.com.

In addition it is MovingScam.com's position that consumers should, when circumstances allow, move themselves and use professional moving services only when that is not a reasonable option for them. Again our stance is in opposition of your false accusations.

4) It is true that anyone can post on the message boards. That is the nature of an open message board and you've probably seen similar software on sites such as Yahoo, MSN, CraigsList, etc. The very nature of an open message board is that it is open for the general public to post. If however a post is found to falsely denigrate a company for the poster's personal gain, or if the message provides misleading, or threatening language, the message is removed and the poster is often barred from posting again. I believe that you have experienced this as I will point out next.

What you have failed to mention is that the text of your complaint was sent out to myself and others via email between February 9th and February 11th. What you have conveniently left off from your posts are the veiled threats that were also included in your email messages. Strangely enough, those email messages came from a computer located in Florida, not from a computer in Massachusetts as you claim to be from.

You claim to be shedding some sort of divine light on MovingScam.com that in fact has no basis for truth, and you have threatened myself and others from the web site repeatedly. I will not bend or back down as a result of your efforts to disparage myself or my web site. I consider your remarks nothing more than something that is taking time away from my more important work of assisting consumers who seek help in finding an honest, reputable moving company.

Sincerely,

MovingScam.com
