To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is written to advise you of the problem I am currently having with Mr. Fix-it Handyman Service, Chris Neikirk (owner).

The following is what I published in the Yellow Pages Directory, which is an accurate description of what took place. Subsequent to this publication Mr. Neikirk changed his contact number to (904) 726-0222 from (904) 722-0607, which I have left several messages for a return call; no return call has been received to date.

He took my money and ran
Posted by doreenmasters on 2007/10/09

I entered into a contract with Chris Neikirk to repair my sprinkler system and paint my house on 9/11/07. He asked for 1/2 the money down to begin the work, which I gave to him on 9/13/07, to date no work has been done and he is no where to be found. He will not return voice mail messages left at 904 722-0607, which is the only phone number he has. Please note, this is his mother's land line, he has no cell phone number. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Apparently others have filed a complaint with the BBB as well. This person ran off with over $1,000 of my hard earned money, I hope I can save someone else from this pain.

I am also attaching copies of the certified letter (which was returned), together with copies of unanswered e-mails. This letter outlines communication with Mr. Neikirk with regard to him telling me that someone will come out to do the work, however, no one ever did. When he finally did call me back he said he was in Orlando that his father had died, but he would send someone else from his crew to begin the work. You will also see attached e-mails from Chris Neikirk that he addressed to me; however, they have no relevance to the sitituation.

I live in Alabama; however, I own a house in Jacksonville, which I am now renting. I am trying to fix this house up so at the end of the tenants contract my elderly parents can move into it, as their house is very old and is in greater need of repair. My parents live in Jacksonville, and my Mom is on my checking account. I asked my Mom to issue Chris Neikirk a check for $1,001.13 to buy the paint and begin the work. My mom gave Mr. Neikirk the check and he took it straight to Wachovia Bank and cashed it and never did any work.

I feel that he saw an elderly woman with a daughter that lives in Alabama and took advantage of the situation. I have also learned, through public records, that Chris Neikirk has committed this crime before and this is a repeat of his previous actions. My parents gathered the paperwork to sue Mr. Neikirk, however, they are not going to pursue it now because both of them are in very poor health and are not up to this challenge.

I am asking for your assistance to recover my money, if that is possible, and above all bring this person to justice. He must stop stealing and taking advantage of innocent people.

All is assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Doreen
