Opened and funded Etrade account on 10/02/2007. Tried to use my account and found it was restricted. Etrade wanted nore ID proof and asked for drivers license, social security card and W9 forms. I faxed it in for myself and wife four times. Talked to many account representatives over a three week . Nothing was done as of this date and time. They all said no problem will take of this right away.My money is tied up and I can't get my money or trade. They keep telling me they can't read my social security number. I faxed in over very proof of social security number. I mailed in my clear copy. Still restricted. I have lived in the same house for over 33 years, married to the same woman for over 50 years. I have served in the US military for 8 years. i am a Korean War Vet. I have security clearances in both the military and private companies. Don't deal with Etrade.

ETRADE has my account locked up, can't close, withdraw my money or trade.

After opening an account with ETRADE and funding my account on the first attempt to trade I find that my account is restricted. Why I don't know. I have never had this problem for other Brokerages. They tell me my ID information was not obtainable. I had submitted everything accuratly at the beginning. They want me to fax in a copy of my and my wife's drivers licenses, social securirity cards and W9 forms, Which I did over four times. They say my social security number was not readable. Then I mail in a copy and so far nothing has been done, This has been going on for over six weeks. My money is tied up. Can't withdraw, trade or close my account. I have talked to many account representatives and each said they will take care of the problem. As of this time and date nothing has been done. Their system is so fouled up they can't get nothing done. DON'T DEAL WITH ETRADE!
