Complaint Review: Mr Rooter

This company's local franchise had a large attractive ad in the yellow pages when I desperately needed help with a slow sewer at home. The young man who came to my home was pleasant enough but from the start he seemed interested in selling an internal inspection and after obviously pulling a great deal of weeds from the clean out he again touted the internal inspection as I wrote a check for the outrageous charge.

Then, 7 days later when doing laundry it became apparent that the problem was not corrected so I called their office and requested that the work be re done but I was told that after 24 hours there would be another charge and they would insist on the internal video inspection and subsequent repairs that they might think were necessary. I declined and called a local independent company whose men, unaware of the previous work, ran their machine and pulled out as much or more roots than Mr Rooter just a week earlier and at half the price.
