RE: Mr. Transmission, Abingdon , VA - rebuilt transmission lasted only 270 miles - out of pocket $ 2,000 as a result of this experience

Was driving through Abingdon, Virginia on way from Nashville, Tennessee to Alexandria, Virginia when my transmission gave out. Mr Transmission performed a "rebuild" on the transmission.

The vehicle traveled as far as Woodstock, Virginia, some 270 miles, before a stop to refuel revealed transmission trouble - vehicle could not leave the gas station. After a period of time during which the transmission cooled, the vehicle limped back to Alexandria at a hesitant forty miles an hour.

Mr Transmission was notified as soon was possible. Attempts were made by Mr Transmission to locate a transmission shop in Alexnadria area to address the problem but nothing came of these. Frustrated, since the vehicle could not travel four blocks without breaking down, I wrote to Mr Transmission asking some kind of settlement.

Letter came back "suggesting" that I bring it in - to the Abingdon location. A letter to Mr Transmission HQ in Illinois brought no satisfaction. I am out of pocket $2,000 as a result of this experience. And all this from a franchise that bills itself as "The Professionals". Professional at what, I wander.

"Integrity" and "Respect' are two other words claimed by Mr Transmission to describe their approach to business. I beg to differ.
