I searched the web and called the number on one of the Google ads.  I talked to Steve Huffner at Mr. Transmission at 11642 Jones Road in Houston.  He told me he was the person who put the ads on Google, and wanted a good review.  He told me he was hired to turn the company around.  He says my car does not qualify for the $1,385 special, but he will do it for $1,985.  I agree to the service.  He tells me that this is the final price according to the web special.  He picks the car up for free and has it towed to Houston, and he pays the tow truck $180.  I am promised the car will be fixed in 4 days.  I prepaid the bill and sign a contract that says he can charge me for whatever he wants, which is different than what his online ads says (no hidden costs and walk out the door price).  What a fraud and slimeball.  Don’t do business with this guy!!

Steve told me he paid for a Google advertisement, but online today I saw advertisements for at least 4 websites below all pointing to Steve at Mr. Transmission and the same advertisement.  See the actual websites as noted on the web pages below.  And view the video that goes with the website.

  1. tra2.net/Transmission_
  2. transmission2.net/Sale_
  3. 8tra.net/Transmission_
  4. 9tra.com/TransmissionSale_

Once the car was at Mr. Transmission, I got a call from Steve Huffner.  He said that due to internal parts in the transmission that were bad, I needed to pay an extra $800.  I said that the quote that I got included a complete rebuild and that I did not owe any more money.  He said that the parts were excluded on the contract and that I owed the money.  At this time, I believed I was defrauded since they had my car as hostage and they were extorting money from me.  I paid the amount as a result of fear that I would never get my car back unless I paid.  Then, Steve informed me that I owed another $450 for more parts.  I paid that amount as well since they would not release the car until I did.  I got the car more than 10 days after I was promised it would be done.

These costs were in excess of the advertised prices per the 4 websites Steve paid Google for and my contract.  Look at the video on his website.  It talks about no hidden costs and walk out the door costs.  This is deceptive advertising by Mr. Transmission and Steve Huffner.  This is a bait and switch and I was defrauded.  The Sheriff’s Department has said they have gone out to see Huffner a dozen times.  They suggested a class action lawsuit to shut them down.  Put them out of business by doing no business with  Mr Transmission.
