Complaint Review: MSI Merchant Services Inc

MSI Merchant Services, Inc Unethical business practices regarding contract termination South Easton, Massachusetts

I am a business merchant who set up a credit card processing account on 10/19/09 with MSI Merchant Services, Inc. out of South Easton, MA. Terms of the agreement included no cancellation fees should I ever wish to terminate the account.

On August 9, 2011, I notified them of my desire to cancel. They stated I am locked in to a three year contract and would be subject to high cancellation fees. I provided them a document originally given to me from their own Office Manager, Danielle Sylvia, which clearly indicates no cancellation fees. When I demanded they show me where it is stated in my contract that I agreed to a 3 year commitment, they produced a one sheet page full of rules and regulations which had NEVER before been disclosed.

Additionally, my name and/or my signature was noticeably absent from this page, indicating that they have added it to the contract after the agreement was signed. In reviewing complaints about this company on the Better Business Bureau's website (http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-reviews/credit-cards-and-plans-equipment-and-supplies/msi-merchant-service-inc-in-south-easton-ma-84091/), it is evident that this exact situation has occurred on more than one occasion.

I also have just had the same thing happen to me.  I was not informed that i was in contract for 3 years and no where in my paper work does it even mention this.  I was even lied to about what my monthly bill would be.   This company is crooked and i don't know what i can even do about it at this point.  The worst part is that i called to cancel and they didn't even tell me that i was still in contract or that there was going to be a cancelation fee they just continued to charge me.
