Have had MSN x2 yrs. Have never had charges for Dial Up Serviceson a Long Dist.number. Recieved a phone bill for $500+ in October. It had 4,000 # hrs of Long Distances. Copied a years worth of my previous phone bills & sent them to MSN "Investigative Unit". Proof that this was done to us! We didnot change our #'s.

Why would anyone in their right mind change the dial up numbers so they could pay long distance charges. Have discussed w/numerous employees that give me someone else to call, then they never call back.

The investigative unit of MSN only has a Fax # or you can write a letter to them, they do not have a phone so you can speak to a "LIVE PERSON". They keep saying that they arenot responsiable for checking to see that we arenot dialing out on a long distance number.

We are new to this computer & this has got to be the most frustrating thing imaginable. We are responsible for this large bill & we have had to set up promised payments to pay this amount. This all happened after I was on line w/a representative of MSN & she was doing something to my computer as I was recieving Porn emails & she said she could fix that & it would block any further emails, I then had to shut down & reboot the computer so that what she had done would be installed.

This is the only thing that could of caused this problem. How can we as consumers protect ourselves from this Fraud. We worjk hard for our money & they are a large company that can sit & laugh at the comsumer as we can not to a thing to them. I am so tired of everything we do you get it in the rump.

We have to eb honest or they throw the switch on us. I will continue to fight this corruption on this account. I have also filed a complaint w/the government. And this to will be a dead end as our Politicians are just as greety. Thank you.

And I contacted MSN demanding my $579 back. The person is customer service said that they would if I sent to bill to them. I did, and they then refused to pay it. So we kept sending them letters and contacting them. We did it for a year. Finally they gave in and sent us a check.

Bill Gates assets are over 56 billion. Whats $600 to him?

4000 hours?

Really, you got charged for 4000 hours? That equals out to 5 1/2 months of CONSTANT connection to a long distance number! Maybe what you need to do is dispute that with the phone company, NOT MSN! The phone company would be the one who reverses the charges, either your local company (who has already paid the long distance carrier) or the long distance carrier (who may be willing to refund the local carrier).
