I bid for two items diamonds online that I won.  One was a diamond solitaire ring and one was a diamond solitaire necklace.  Both were shipped and received separately.  When I received the diamond pendant I could tell right away that the quality was poor.  I called because they had adverstised satisfaction guaranteed.  They told me to email them, which I did.  I was asked to take pictures, which I did.  They told me that they would look around and find a pendant of the same description but of better quality to replace it.  I never heard back from them even after emailing them multiple times.

When I received the diamond solitaire ring I noticed right off that it wasn't in the setting as the picture they had used for the auction demonstrated.  It was a much thinner band.  I took it to a jeweler to have the security of the prongs checked.  He informed me that the diamond was not 2.5 carats as I thought.  It was 2.29 carats after he popped it out of the setting and weighed it.  He also said it was a poor quality diamond that most jewelers would never use.  I then took the ring and the pendant to a GIA certified gemologist and paid to have it appraised so I would know what I was dealing with.  I called back to te company to tell them what I had found and they gave me the run around about how the website says "approximate representation", etc.

The items I bid on had supposedly been appraised prior to the auction and the relevant specs were listed prior to bidding.  The appraisal was sent out with the items.  It turns out it is not signed by anyone claiming to be certified.  The following is what they represented and what my certified appraisal showed:
