On Monday Nov 3rd I went to MultiMedia Outlet simply to 'shop' - I was greeted by a salesperson (Mike) whose objective was to sell me something no matter what (even though I had told him I wouldnt be buying anything on that day). After many attempts from him to try to sell me something, I finally gave in (since he was apparently giving a 'Great Deal' on some 6x9 Pioneer speakers from $150 to $80dls -without Me asking for him to lower the price.)
I ended up buying 6.5" speakers for the front doors TS-A1782R 4-Way Speaker with 280 Watts Maximum Power for $49 (although Mike had said $39) and 6 x 9's for the back, Model TS-A6992R 6" x 9" 5-Way Speaker with 460watts max pwr for $80 both pairs Pioneer.
Since I was under the impression that the items were brand new I felt no worries.
I went to a friends house to install the 'front speakers' -they came in NEW packaging with ALL accessories & Warranty Card. They worked, no problem.

The next day (Tues Nov 4) I installed one 6x9 at 12pm but didnt test it, until 3pm when I got off work. I then found out it was DEFECTIVE, it didnt sound right.
I had court that day, so after court I went to the store & arrived there at 6:50pm & it was already Closed. (Usually closes 7pm)

I then waited for Weds, I went at 4pm & explained the issue to the "owner". He said that there is no warranty on items not installed by them. I told him the speakers Were Not NEW. He stated that they only sell brand new merchandise, and said if I had nothing else; for me to leave because he was busy. He did not care about my dissatisfaction & did not want to hear my case.
The speakers were not NEW. All accessories, warranty card & wires were missing. On Thursday Nov 6th I noticed that the Box & the actual Item WERE NOT THE SAME MODEL NUMBER. The actual speakers are Model: TS-A6992R 5-way & the box is for Model: TS-A6982R 4-way.

To any consumer that Reads This... there is no way of winning with this company. They basically turn their back on the consumer & they have no principles.
I thought about filing a Small Claims... but first got help from the Legal Society of Orange County. They helped me send a Demand Letter asking for $80, the price I paid for the defective speakers. That didn't help, no response.

I then went to the BBB... and this complaint was just finalized 1-9-09. Multimedia Outlet, Inc. continues to claim they only sell New products even though on their sales receipt it states "Products sold are new, factory reconditioned or open box items." On their BBB response they also stated that all sales are final & that there are no refunds.

Ed Magedson, I dont know what to do... I was gonna let it 'slide' like you call it; but if you'd only knew these individuals... you would dislike them. They're in it for the money & don't care about consumers.. they even laughed in my face when I said I would sue... the owner said "Go ahead, are you going to sue me? We are part of a corporation."

Please assist me or direct me in regards to this issue. If I go to Small Claims it'll be too long & at the end if I Do win, what guarantees I'll get the judgement from them?

CONSUMER RESOLUTION: (what settlement would be considered fair?) - I would like to have my $80dls back that I paid for these speakers or a replacement with same product but truly NEW.

Invoice Number: I have INVOICE/RECEIPT but No Number Invoice Number.
