Complaint Review: Murphy's Downtown Tavern

Murphy's Downtown is owned by a gentleman (and I use that term politely) named Mike Trice (or Mike Tice) and is staffed by 4 or 5 girl bartenders in the afternoon and also 5-6 nighttime men as bartenders. He also has a night chef and I was the day chef. EVERYONE who works for Murphy's is off the books. The bartenders work for Tips ONLY. They do not get the mandatory minimum wage of $4.25/hour, just tips. I was working for 20% of the sales from the Food and Bar for the hours I worked (11-3 for lunch). I was also promised a minimum of $200.00/week. I only received 20% of the food. I was supposed to get 20% of the Bar also but never saw it. I left after not being payed for 2 weeks. I worked a total of 102 hours for $272.00. Mike is TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE POOR ECONOMY AND RIPPING OFF HIS WORKERS. There is a revolving door for the workers at Murphy's. They work for a week or 2 and then leave when they find another job. I think it is a travesty that Mike is allowed to do things like this and get away with it. His afternoon chef (me) as advertised in his flyers NO LONGER WORKS THERE. I hope someone from the Labor Board sees this complaint. Murphy's is located at 36 SE 3rd Street in downtown Boca Raton, Fl. 33432... DO NOT HELP MIKE CONTINUE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS WORKERS...
