Complaint Review: Music Xray

Music Xray, Music XRay has not paid money owed to me New York New York

I have been working with Music X-Ray on and off for several years, in my quest to find new composers for a music library that I co own. Music X-Ray has a site where they act as middle man for composers who wish to submit music for acceptance, for a fee, by music business entities such as mine. There is a profit sharing system between Music X Ray and the companies that they work with.

At one point in time I could ask for a profit sharing payout at any time. Then Music X-Ray set up an exchange similar to a stock option instead of payments and I did not work with them during that period. Now there is a system where a business working with Music X-Ray needs to ask for a payout by a particular date and then said business will receive a payout at the end of the quarter.

I missed my deadline for a payout for the third quarter so the money that I had earned was forwarded to the next quarter. I then asked for payment on 10-02-2017, expecting a payout at the end for Q4. At the end of December I did not get a payment. This is not a small amount for me. The amount that accrued was over $12,000.00.  I received a few emails promising a payment.  I’ve received one payment, totaling less than 10% of the money that was owed and no further payments and all communication from Music X-Ray has ceased.

I have done what I feel is an exceptional job reviewing each and every composer who has submitted (I have screen shots documenting my excellent reviews) and I have added a good number of composers to my music library through my interactions with Music X-Ray (also documented).

There is no way to communicate with them. When I called the phone number that the Better Business Bureau has listed for them the person answering the phone told me that this was not the phone number for Music X-Ray. It also appears that the address on record with the Better Business Bureau is not real.

I emailed Music X-Ray on 01-16-18 giving them 10 days to resolve this issue before I took action and that time period is now passed.

I have thoroughly documented my email transactions and the various goings on in my online area of the Music X-Ray website and can provide this information, if needed.

I have saved my emails to and from from Music X-Ray and have detailed screen shots from their website with proof of the amount owed, their statement about processing my payout and my excellent ratings.

Hi Frank, I have more information that might be of help to you in your case against Music Xray if you'd like to communicate at some point. I'm not clear on how to connect with you, however.

On January 30th I sent another email giving Music X-Ray 10 days to respond.

On 1/31/18 I received an email from their CEO that stated that Music X-Ray would be able to start making payments for the money they owe me on around February 9th or 10th. I received another email on February 1st, promising to not only pay the back payments for the previous quarter, but also to catch up for payments in January.

I sent an email on February 8th asking if they would be able to follow through on the initiation of the back payments that were promised and did not receive a return email.

As of February 12th I have not received a single payment for the overdue funds except for the one payment that did not even cover 10% of the total that is owed to me.
