MVI Marketing; A Division Of Minivacations Inc. Hidden charges, when asked to speak with manager, the cust. serv. rep. hung up on me! Complete ripoff. Tampa Florida .....

I was sold a certificate for a cruise. When I called to arrange cruise, I learned that there were huge additional fees for "peak season" (-which was ten months of the year) and the room had two small bunk beds! There were more fees for a regular bed.

When I added up the fees, the total cost was more than if I had bought direct from Travelocity. I explained this to the customer service rep. who was hostile and defensive. I asked to speak to the manager and should would not connect me. She was abusive and argumentative. She said if "if you keep talking like this, your not going to be talking to anyone." When I kept insisting I speak with the manager, she hung up on me.

After two more calls, I was given to a woman who claimed to be a manager. She offered some hotel vouchers in exchange for the cruise certificate, which I did not accept.

Terms of Cruise Fully Disclosed

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, July 25, 2003

Cheryl,

All cruise certificates fulfilled by Mini Vacations fully disclose all of the terms and conditions of their use. The information about our cruise certificate in your complaint on this website contains erroneous information. The peak season for the cruise industry is not 10 months of the year; rather it is six months. Additionally, there are no hidden charges or terms, as the certificate states quite clearly that travelers are responsible for port charges, government taxes and a small processing fee. Also, the termns and conditions state that the certificate is good for an entry-level cabin.

If you have concerns about the way that the certificate was promoted, please contact the distributor from which you received the certificate.

If you need any assistance in using your cruise certificate, please call our Cruise Customer Service Department at (813) 626-8051.

Thank you.
