MWI Connections ripoff fraudulent business

Information Theft and Fraud. While checking my bank transactions on-line, I discovered an unidentified charge of $96.00 toward my checking account from "MWI Connections". I have never heard of this company and never performed any transactions with them. Neither has any other member of my household.

I will be contacting the Maryland State Attorney General's Office as well as the Montgomery County Consumer Affairs Office tomorrow. If any of you have similar agencies where you live, I suggest you do likewise. Also, it costs only $8.00 to sue in small claims court. If enough of us do these things, it could make a difference.

The big question is how does the MWI organization obtain people's credit card and banking information? They must be using spyware, or purloining information from legitimate concerns. In other words, they're stealing the information, which is a Federal Crime. Also suggest you contact www.fraud.org, fbi.gov, or cybercrime.gov.

This is an update to my original complaint about MWI Connections. Hopefully, this information may help some of you. I called the customer service number at my bank, and thier help was outstanding. They immediate arranged for a new bank card, cancelled the existing card, gathered all the information they could, and asked me if I would be agreeable to prosecute. My account was also credited back within 24 hours.

I also filed complaints twice. First with the National Fraud Information Center, which can be reached at www.fraud.org. Their practice is to report complaints to the appropriate local/state law enforcement agencies. Secondly, I filed a complaint with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center. They can be reached at www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp or indirectly at www.cybercrime.gov.

MWI Connections has conducted fradulent operations in multiple jurisdictions, and has moved stolen information across state lines, if the reports on this site are any indication. This means that the MWI orhganization could be investigated by federal as well as local and state authorities.

Why am I sharing this information? Because if enough of us fight back, there won't be any more victims.
