Complaint Review: MWI Galleria USA

MWI Charged my Visa $149.95 + $20 for a plastic egg cooker: FRAUD! Stamford CT 06902 .....

In 2001 I bought a $20 (approx price) microwave egg cooker from a T.V. ad through a 1-800 number. I called, orderd 1, and paid over the phone by Visa. That should have been the end of it. Today (12 Nov '02) I received my Visa bill and MWI Galleria USA (who did NOT declared who they were when I placed my order, or the 'hidden committments' involved) had charged me $149.95 for
'Annual Membership Fees'.

When I purchased this egg cooker I was NOT told I been entered into any club or ongoing financial obligation to these rip-offs. I immediately contacted a Ms. Fallown (should be Felon) operator 9447, at their Customer Service Dept and told her that I had NO intention of paying this fee and I wanted my money refunded immediately.

I also alerted Visa to this. Visa will penalize me for non-payment of this money if it is not returned to my account by 29 Nov '02 and this will also damage my flawless credit history. I urge ANYONE reading these words to NEVER do ANY business with MWI Galleria USA. They are con-artists in their basest form and deserve nothing less than Federal prosecution by the Federal Trade Commission. Disgusted, frustrated and appalled, they can shove their membership where they store their ethics.
