This weekend I finally got around to sitting down and going over my bank statements from the last few months and lo and behold there was an unauthorized deduction from my account for $149.95 by something called Simple Escapes.

I remember my account being down over a hundred dollars about that time (but fortunately not overdrawn) and thinking I must have made a subtraction error. For whatever reason, I didn't investigate further until now. I had to wait unti this morning to contact my bank and since the company's phone # was incomplete on my bank statement they suggested I try to get more info on-line while they looked back through thier files. Thank you Sue and Don from Rochester NY for your report! Because of you, I had immediate access to the phone # I am still waiting for my bank to find AND I feel empowered to do somethinbg about being ripped-off.

This is not the first time an unauthorized deduction has shown up on my checking account by a company like Simple Escapes and it could very well be the same company who helped themselves to more than $100 of my money two years in a row a few years ago. I tried contacting them and was placed on hold and eventually cut-off without being able to talk with anyone.

My bank has since called me back without being able to provide me even a complete phone # so I thank God for the internet and people like Sue and Don who have provided information I don't know how I would get otherwise. So, until I actually get to talk to someone, this is not resolved but I'm going to get my $149.95 back from these thieves!

How many others out there who don't have access to the internet and who's bank can't help them have had to bite the loss because they don't know where to go for help?
