MWI Simple Escapes2 ripoff credit card scam stolen credit information applied for K-Mart discount card - get charged for vacation package. Omaha Nebraska
I recently applied for a K-Mart discount card through a link I found on the Crushlink.com website.
About a week later I found a charge for $135.95 on my BankOne Visa debit card for which I could not account. The charge was listed as a payment to MWI*SIMPLE ESCAPES2 a company of which I had never heard.
I searched online for information about this company and found it listed as a credit card scam on several independent fraud investigation websites. Reading some of the complaints I found that a number of complainants had also applied for K-Mart discount cards and that their credit information was used to charge similar amounts on their credit cards.
In response to this information I am composing this letter and informing my bank and relevant law enforcement agencies as well as several media outlets and public interest groups. I hope that this information can assist other individuals in similar situations.
