MWI Simple Escapes2 Unknown charge on credit card deceptive company Internet
I have no known informatin on this company, other than a phone number on our charge card statement. I noticed a $1.00 charge on my credit card in December, 2002. At the time I thought it was something like Expedia because my spouse was looking for vacation resorts. Then I had a $139.99 charge on my January statement.
I called the phone number immediately (Lord knows what that call will cost us.). The entire conversation seemed too assuring, too fixed. Something about "I must have signed up when I bought something at KMart on the web". I have never bought from KMart on the web.
Given what I know is probably a fake employee I.D. number, I am to be credited for all charges. Ha! I'm making a formal complaint to my credit account to be safe. I WILL NOT PAY.
am notifying the State Attorney General's consumer fraud division. P.S. What's the "packet" supposed to look like? We've never received anything.
