My Fashion Initiative RIPPED ME OFF, I NEVER RECEIVED THE SERVICES THEY PROMISED Internet

About a year ago I contacted My fashion Initiative (MFI) to assist in launching a handbag business after seeing an advertisement for their services on what I thought was a reputable website. MFI convinced me that they would construct my business plan, help me acquire start up capital, and sell and market the finished product.Needless to say, none of this ever happened.

MFI expected an upfront lump sum for their services. Since I could not provide the funds they offered to accept monthly installments for their services as an alternative. Unfortunately, after making the first payment I quickly realized that something was wrong. Some things that tipped me off:

#1 WEBSITE: At the time, MFI's website was supposedly "under construction," however when it finally launched it was so tacky and rudimentary I instantly realized that I had been scammed (I tried contacting them to speak to someone for reassurance but that didn't help see #2 & #3). Granted, a less than perfect website is no indication of impropriety, but any reputable company capable of providing the services MFI claimed to provide would have a professional website to match or at least a half-way decent one. Nowadays MFI's online presence is a blog on blogger.com.

#2 HIGH TURNOVER RATE: Over the course of the few months that I had the misfortune of dealing with MFI I was constantly being transferred to a new "account manager". I got so upset at one point that I demanded to know what was going on and refused to pay another dime. MFI's response? A new account manager.

#3 INCOGNITO STAFF: With my new account manager things got even worse. Everyone at MFI, new account manager and all, mysteriously evaporated into thin air. Of the several hundred employees supposedly employed by MFI, not one had the time or telephone to return my calls or respond to my voice messages and emails.

I have not been able to reach MFI since.

Recently I became aware of this website and was shocked to see "KB" give his flimsy defense. To KB and others at MFI, not only are you liars but you are thieves. KB had the audacity to respond to the claims on this website in an effort to continue to decieve others which is why I have decided to speak out. I have kept all the transactions between MFI and myself (i.e. names, paypal transactions, emails, etc) and if KB or anyone at MFI rebutts my honest testimony of my experience with MFI on this site I will consider that an indication that you have no shame, no intention of reform and no remorse, and that will prompt me to take the appropriate action in order to see that you are prosecuted.

Until now I have remained silent because I assumed that my incident was an isolated one but I was wrong. Your audacity angers me...Consumer beware! My Fashion Initiative is a ripoff!!!

Odesk Is a SCAM!!!!

It's been almost one month (25 days) since I hired a contractor to do a fixed writing job that they have not done.  Despite not receiving so much as a draft, oDesk not only billed my account, but has done nothing to resolve the issue despite the fact that the contractor has agreed to a refund.

The only thing they oDesk has done is apologize and encourage the submission of frivolous tickets meanwhile their contractor is free to violate my rights as a client.

I have sought council and am waiting a couple days to see if the contractor's account will be suspended.  If nothing is done, I am currently on sabbatical outside of the country, but plan to get back my money one way or another when I return to the USA.

The BIG SCAM on oDesk is that this platform is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to outsourcing freelance talent and is a breeding ground for scam artists and thieves from all over the globe who are made to thrive because of oDesk's unethical user agreement.

If you think bad work, a dishonest resume and logging hours for time not worked is all you have to worry about on oDesk then learn from my experience and think again.  oDesk also bills clients for work that is not even attempted just so they can collect the accessory fee they receive from their crooked contractors.

Take my advice and use another outsource platfom with an escrow service.
