My son's club hockey team booked a tournament through MyHockey Tournaments. We turned in all the paperwork and hotel preferences on time. Myhockey tournaments did not properly hold the right amount of hotel rooms. Teams were forced to make another set of preferences for hotels at the last minute. Our team was stuck with a low-end hotel at an exorbitant price, Sleep Inn Nashville. Over a 30 minute drive from Nashville proper. When the new list of hotels was posted for the second time do to MyHockeys' mistake, the hotel had a published rate of $80 per night online for those dates. I physically checked their website and the five hotels that were newly listed. Somehow our team has been forced to pay $169 per night.

The hotel blames the tournament on the high price and the tournament blames the hotel. A convenient game of kick the can at our expense. I canceled our room reservations almost three days prior to check in and was told I was going to be charged one night stay for not having a 72 hour cancellation. The hotel blamed the tournament and the tournament blamed the hotel again. No where in writing was there a 72 hour cancellation notice on the confirmation email, registration or their website. I was told that my team manager was supposed to notify us.

I registered our hotel transaction directly with Myhockey's registration site. Credit card information, preferences etc. Our manager mentioned nothing to us about a cancellation policy and it is not binding by law for a third-party to inform us of something of this matter when we were booking directly with Myhockey and the hotel. The hotel's website clearly states a 24 hour cancellation policy. This is absolutely ridiculous and bullying on the part of Myhockey tournaments for price gouging. I will be contacting my credit card company to deny the charge . Our club will never use my hockey tournaments in the upcoming seasons again.
