I purchased a Brussels Griffon from Jillian H. from www.mylovablebrussels.com. She is Jasmine who is still listed on her web site. The nerve of her actually to still leave her on there. I will also start off by saying that the only contact with Jillian is via email. I have NEVER spoken with her via phone. My puppy was represented to be HEALTHY with no serious health defects. She also claims that she was crate trained which turned out not to be the case as well. My dealings with Jillian were fine - she seemed to get back to you in a quick manner via email. The delivery date was set pretty quickly for Jasmine to be shippped to NJ. I went to the airport to get her - they almost didn't release her to me - because whoever filled out the paperwork from the breeders end at the airport - didn't put my name on the paperwork. I frantically tried to contact Jillian from the airport. It was late and the puppy I know I paid for - was staring at me - stuck in a smelly, soiled travel crate. It was late - I called her frantically to help me rectify this so that I could get my new girl home. She never did return the call and I have never spoken to this person on the phone. I was surprised at how smelly she was . It was a smell that said she hadn't been bathed in a long time, which surprised me.... She was small like Jillian represented. But that turns out to be the least of my problems.... I did initially call Jillian to let her know the airport finally released her to me. I was initially excited with the pup and let her know that I was pleased. Howver, that quickly changed after the first vet visit. She was infested with parasites, ear mites & a VERY SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING HEART MURMOR. I contacted Jillian and let her know and she basically said she would only replace the puppy. How could I do that to this girl I already love? My vet has stated on more than one occasion that due to the severity of her murmor -it is next to impossible that the vet that had been treating her prior to coming to NJ -would not have detected it. She has now seen my regular vet and two heart specialists and all have the same opinion. It would have been detected. They all say she was born with it and it can affect her life if I do not have surgery. The surgery will run me about $5,000. Jillians stand is she will only replace the pup. I find that completely unacceptable. Breeders like her hide behind their contract. I have been unable to get the surgery for her. I am hoping to have it soon because she can't even be spayed - until her heart is fixed first. I was not surprised when I found an older report on here - with almost the same exact claims that I have. Because of the parasites & ear mites - I had to treat all of my dogs - so that they didn't get infected as well. Jillian is not reputable. A reputable breeder would not have so many breeds of dogs like she sells on her sites. She is probably a glorifed mill -hiding behind a website. Stay far away from www.myloveablebrussels.com and www.loveablepuppiesforsale.com.

Jillian: You are hiding behind your contract and your email address. You sold me a puppy that I fell in love with that has a grade FOUR serious heart murmor. She can drop dead on me at anytime. It is so serious that two vets and three heart specialists said there was NO way your vet would not have picked up on this. GRADE FOUR PDA heart murmor. Do you know what this even is Jillian? You sould be ashamed of your response. In addition, when I say she was not crate trained like you claimed was not due to her soiling her crate on the airplane. This puppy had NO idea what a crate was. You always communicated how well her training was coming along and how she was crate trained etc..... Crate trained means they willingly accept the crate and do not soil in it. SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT A CRATE WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me months to get her to be comfortable in it and not soil all over it. In addition - she had a bonus present of ear mites and parasites.
You are a glorified mill Jillian. Why do you represent so many other breeds under your name if you only breed one breed???? The puppy you sold me was born with this serious heart murmor - which is why you were calous to only offer me a replacement puppy. I told you I would have been satisifed if you offered me $50 - something more than hiding behind your contract. Do you know that she is still unspayed because she can't go under anesthesia unless her heart is repaired? Do you know that I am still trying to save the money to pay for her heart surgery? I pray all the time that I don't lose her due to heart failure.
For anyone reading this - do not purchase a puppy from her. I suppose the other people who reported you were dishonest as well............ Do you think I have nothing better to do in my life than to report you on here if there really wasn't a problem?
Consumers do your homework. There are plenty of great dogs available for adoption. Don't support this type of breeder anymore. I am sad that I did.

I have known about this post for months but didn't want to respond to it because I felt it wouldn't do any good. But I had someone who adopted from me and the same day found this report, they wanted to know what happened. I try to be very open and honest, I am not perfect but explained what happened. They took their brussels to the vet wondering if the same thing would happen to them... They emailed me stating their brussels was healthy and thanked me for answering their questions about this report and for being honest. I then decided I needed to respond to this report and at least tell my side.
There are two sides to every story and I have learned you can not please everyone. That is why I have a contract and both parties agree to it, I can't help it if the person on the other end doesn't want to keep to the contract when something does arise. These fur-babies are living creatures and things can happen that are unpreventable such as viruses, parasites or anything else that can happen to a living breathing creature. Most breeders don't even offer any type of warranty a puppy is sold as is, I offer a 5 YEAR HEALTH WARRANTY and if used a replacement puppy is issued. Because of a few past experiences (the one on ripoff report being one them, owner would not send back the puppy) over the past 12 years, I try to keep everything to email, this way everything is documented. It is sad that things have to be done like that and you can't take someone's word but now days you can't be to careful. I have had some pretty shady people go to a lot of trouble to get a free dog or even a second free dog. I don't always know the reason but have quiet trying to figure out these kinds of people. (not saying this person was doing this, just an example of what I have had to deal with over the years)
I understand on ripoff report I can put my side of the story on here but as I stated before I don't want to get into the he said she said of this. I'm the type of person who gets to emotional with this kind of stuff and it doesn't do me any good to fight back and forth. I rather put those kinds of things behind and move forward, learning from the situation and how it can be prevented. But again that is where I have to tell myself you can't please everyone. When I was emailed this puppy had a murmur felt terrible but needed documentation of this then I was told how insensitive I was, I offered a replacement as stated on my contract but it wasn't good enough. I took responsibility when something was wrong and did what my contract said I would do, but I can't help it that the buyer didn't now want to accept what they agreed to initially.
I can understand in Jeanne's anger she assumed things and posted things that weren't presented and full true.
I AM NOT A PUPPY MILL, I myself only breed one breed of dog and show our male as of right now. But I do belong to a breeder support group where we help each other place our fur-babies in loving caring homes. We have a code of ethics which all this is posted on our website in the "About Us" section.
Also imagine a puppy being in a crate for 2 flights with a connection (6-10 hours if delays, but a good sized crate to stretch and move around). They can't hold going potty that long and they usually always soil their crate, they are messy when they arrive and do need a bath.
I wish Jeanne and Jasmine the very best, I hope everything turned out okay and they are doing very well.
