I received a special "second notice" pink tear-off envelope with "important delivery" printed on the side.

The notice inside had the following words:
"Dear XXXXX,
We have been trying to reach you regarding your $1,000,000.00 sweepstakes id # XXXXXXXXX. Please call us at the above number. This is a toll free call."
I called and they advised I was entered in the sweepstakes. They did try to confirm that I "still" carry at least one of the five major credit cards. I said yes, then tried to sell me magazines, I said no three times (usually telemarketers are trained to rebut 2 times after their pitch). After that, they wanted to transfer me to a manager to explain the free vacation give-away. I said no thanks.

The notice is a ploy to get you to call. Once you call, they pitch their magazines, then their free vacation (probably with some kind of deposit required, although I don't know that). The last thing they try is to transfer you to a sweepstakes confirmation recording which tries to sell you several other things (all from the scam family).
