I was contacted initially by this company looking for my ex wife. I gave them her phone number and thought I was done with them. Two days later they started calling me at work and home saying she made this debt while we were married so I am responsible as well especially since they could not get a hold of her. Anyway I hung up on them several times and the calls never let up.

I finally asked them to give me all of the info they have and if it is my bill I will pay it. The total of the bill from the alleged credit card more than 10 years ago was just over $1700. They offered to settle for $700 and change. I told them I would pay half and they could fight my ex for her part. They agreed and I gave them my bank info. Luckily I have a deposit acct for paying bills and for online purchases and only transfer in what I need. The day I gave them the info they immediately tried to withdrawl the whole balance of $1700+.

When that was unsuccessful, they attempted to withdrawl the settlement amount of $700. Finally they decided to settle for the agreed upon amount of $350. Unfortunately I had only deposited $375 and after 2 unsuccessful attempts I had been charged fees and the balance was not in there. I was contacted and told I had not upheld my end of the agreement and that I didnt have the money in my acct I agreed to pay so they were going to file on me.

I told them I believe they are a scam and I was contacting the police and the BBB. They hung up and have not bothered me again. I filed the report with the police yesterday and have spoken to an attorney this morning and will be posting this on every forum. I was lucky, $100 in fees is fine compared to what they might have done. BEWARE!! they are a scam!!
