I was contacted on my cell phone by a man who indicated I was prequalified for a $2,500 credit card limit, with no annual fee, and an APR of 6.9%. Of course, this got my attention so I listened further. He indicated I was currently re-establishing my credit, was that not correct? I said yes, that I was in a way re-establishing my credit. I had applied for a secured credit card on-line a week prior. After a short conversation, he claimed he would turn me over to a credit representative. A woman came on the line and started to confirm my address, phone, and wanted my bank account number.

I became suspicious and started asking questions like: Is this a MasterCard or VISA? Was this for a actual credit card with limit of $2,500 or a card for merchandise? She said I would receive a catolog with all the merchandise i could purchase from. [she started throwing department store names around like Sears, Mervyn's, etc.] I was so excited to re-establish my credit, I gave my account number, they said I would have to put down $250.00 and I would get 3 $100 payment vouchers in addition to the $2500. They took out the money and I never received anything so I did a search for National Association Credit Services and got this wonderful web page.

So beware!
