I could write pages and pages on the atrocities of this place. They are only interested in your money, and I mean thousands of dollars. We sent our son there in 2005 after doing much research (but not near enough) on various rehabilitation centers. They made great promises about their wonderful treatment program. After reading some information about them, I was concerned that they were connected with Scientology. They denied having anything to do with Scientology, which is a lie. There spokesperson used to be Actress Kirstie Alley, a known Scientologist. They give their incoming patients a book to read written by Ron Hubbard. Besides the cult situation, they use many unethical treatment methods such as training routines (TRs), where my son had to sit for two hours at a time with people either staring at him from the front or yelling at him from behind. He couldn't move, flinch, blink, etc. Before the two hours were up, he was told he flinched, got a 15 minute break, and then had to sit for two more hours. He did this up to eight hours a day. When he began questioning the fraudulent nature of the program, he was kicked out and taken to a remote motel. I received the call at 10:00 p.m. and they said they were kicking him out. They gave me a false name of the motel and refused to give me the phone number. It took me until midnight to find out where he was. He was 19, up in Michigan somewhere, and we were in Kentucky. Our son said he didn't care if he lived or died and threatened suicide. This is just scratching the surface of what we dealt with while he was there. We lost all our money and our son still needed help. Please do not use this facility. I agree with the other reports that call this place a scam, dishonest, repulsive, a cult, etc. etc. etc. It is this and more. Please do not send a loved one to any of the Narconon facilities. I wish I had seen a report like this before using this facility.

I am glad that you are still in recovery, but Forever Recovery is still a messed up place to go.  I can't find another treatment center that allows former clients to work there right out of treatent, and most importantly date staff.  That is a very big ethics violation, and can result in their loss of their state license.  I would never send anyone that I care about there, or anyone I hated for that matter.  people are really vulnerable in early recovery, and it is a crying shame that they are exploited there.  the owner, and directors are all actively using alcohol, and make decisons on the fly, and they change daily.  Addicts need consistent, but caring treatment, not continued addtict behaviors.  stay away from that place, dont be like me and waste your money and have to go to a REAL treatment center to fix their head games

i was a person at stone hawk. when i went in i was in bad shape. yes the price was high. and yes there are a different type of ppl there. and yes we used information some teachings of Scientology. i completed the program. i am not affiliated with any church but st. johns student parish in Lansing mi. i have since been off of the drugs. i own my home and have two beautiful boys. now i don't know your exact situations and what has happened but there are those ppl out there everywhere and when you get into crap like drugs or alcohol then the best person to relate is an ex-user. even to that is a equaton of disaster that is the way it is. and training routines. whats the problem with those. they tough you how to communicate better. and never on any of the TR"S was there anyone there yelling at you if there was they were doing it wrong. there is one called TR 4 i believe( not sure its been 4 years) but anyhow that is called bull-bait. and the idea of that is to make you able to not be provoked into something you don't want to do. you can have the self discipline to walk away. or at least have better odds. now of course all methods are not for everyone. training routines are to help you. make you give yourself different routines. cause we cann all agree that everythign you do is out of routine. or habbit and the only way to stop a habbit is to change your thinking and the way you do it. im ont saying that your case is wrong or i dont believee you but i will say i am living proof that stone hawk helped me in my days of need and thats all i needed no matter how much it cost. and no one is gonna quit if they dont want to.

While my son was there, one of the ethics officers took two girls who had just graduated from the program (one was there for alcohol addiction and the other one for drugs) to a bar and then to a hotel room. He did lose his job over this, but to even have something like this going on is repulsive.

I know a women who went to "Forever Recovery" for a drinking problem. She seemed to be doing great and after a few months of being there they gave her a job. She began working there and would ocationaly come home on her days off. Some of the things she told me about this place really made me wonder what kind of rehab is this..it sounded more like a weird dormatory/free for all? After awhile she started coming home and showing visible signs of being drunk and a few of her neighbors and people in town also noticed this. But she continued to go back to Forever Recovery to work. Her daughter refuses to speak to her because she was so upset at her mother for drinking again and "working at a rehab while she was drinking". So this place employed a person who was using for months. She recently came home for good and is so far gone in her alcoholism and sclerosis that we don't think she has long to live :(. Yet one more person to add to the wreckage this so called "rehab" has left behind.
