Nate McClinton, Owner and sole employee of Beverly Hills Luxury Car Brokers found my listing on Craigslist and saw that I was trying to sell my leased vehicle.

He contacted me via email and we spoke on the phone a few times. Nate promised and gave me a written contract stating that his company would find me a client to drive my leased vehicle, keep up-to-date payments, and take full responsibility for the vehicle as long as I kept the vehicle registered under my name. He also promised (and written in the contract) that if his client failed to make the monthly payments that he would cover the monthly cost of the vehicle. Yea...but he doesn't cover the cost of anything else!! I was pretty much S.O.L.!!

This was a complete SCAM to get my vehicle and lease it to some loser with no or bad credit and pay Nate a huge fee to drive my car around and abuse it completely. In the contract I signed with Nate, it stated one persons contact information and had this person sign a contract that they agreed to all the terms. Then without notifying me, he gave the vehicle to another user and didn't give me a signed contract with this new person driving my car. He also withheld the information of his client until I threatened to sue him. The agreement and lease stated that the vehicle could only be driven 15,000 miles per year.

This client drove my car 30,000 miles in ONE year and got into a car accident and there is over $2000 in damage on the body! The only reason I knew was because the vehicle got REPOSSESSED because Nate's client was driving without a license and got pulled over. I was forced to pay all the fees upfront in order to protect my CREDIT! Thus, my credit card interest is higher and this ultimately hurts my credit because of debt to income ratio. This person also got 3 unpaid parking tickets, was involved in a hit-in-run, and failed to renew insurance. Keeping in mind that the vehicle is still registered to ME..this only hurts ME not Nate!

Next thing I know, the Leasing Bank is sending me bills and bills for payments, late fees, and repossession fees. The total due on my "co-leased" vehicle is as follows:

Bank Payments: April payment $319.91 & $225 late fees for entire 14 months = $544.91

Fees due to Custom Recovery: $763.30 for impound fee & $425.00 for repossession fee= $1188.30

WM Malloy Tow & Storage fee: $245.00

LAPD Repo Release Reciept: $15.00

Excessive mileage fee: 14 months allowed (17,500) overage of approx 12,298 miles at $0.10 which is= $1,229.80

Parking tickets overdue: $87 each= $174.00

Spare Key Charge: $170

Default on Credit History: Payment due on February 24th, 2009 in the amount of $316.98 was payed LATE on March 26,2009 resulting in a one time thirty day past due notice on credit history. U.S. Bank Processing fee to remove delinquency off credit: $15

Estimated Body damage: $2,080.25

Total Costs incurred: $5,662.26

Nate McClinton owes ME $5,662.26. I have written him numerous e-mails, and send him requests to pay and he states that in his contract it is "not his problem" and its the clients responsibility to pay me!

I have already found one other victim of Nate besides me in the same position, and now I am looking for other people in the same situation so we can all get our money back together! Please contact me for more information!

Judging by the statements given by NM in his rebuttal anyone who is willing to agree to his terms are complete idiots....You're willing to sub-lease a vehicle to someone you don't know with a middle man making the profits and his name not being anywhere on the car and you being left responsible for parking tickets and payments if the person who "rented" the car decides they wanna move across the country and never pay NM again. d**n right I'd be that middle man all day. You people must be nuts to have fallen for this. Hell anything would have been better than using a 3rd party to do this. Post an add on craigslist for that matter, then run a credit report and back ground check and charge the person you're gonna rent your car to twice as much as your payments and insurance combined. See genius Idea!!....Oh wait, there's already companies that do that, d**n I thought I might have something that would catch on, and just think i already had a slogan for the company "We'll Pick you up." Nate You are truly a brilliant man. You could sell Ice cubes to an Eskimo! You should really consider expanding your business to broader horizons cause if anyone will agree to these terms you could probably sell them bottled air

Misrepresented Complaint against Beverly Hills Luxury Car Brokers and Nate McClinton

#4REBUTTAL Individual responds

I have been notified that there was a complaint filed via this site and must give a rebuttal. Our company was a party to the agreement and our company ensured that all payments were made and our company did fulfill that to this customer. In the contract it clearly states and discusses what our company is liable for and not liable for. We absolutely go over our contract in detail as well at the begining line by line and intial each page to ensure that there is no miscommunication as well. We ensure that all payments are made and that definitely was done in this case. Any tickets, accidents, towing, or excess mileage fees are the responsibility of the renter of the vehicle. I have contacted the renter and they are fully aware of the damages and the cost incurred by them and they take full responsibility of those. We have also returned every single call and email presented by Karen Silvers in regard to any questions or complaints she has about our service. We have an extreme committment to follow up and ensure that the fees do get paid by the renter and we will continue to do so until all fees have been paid and are resolved with Karen Silvers. I am unclear as to why she states she didn't know who the user was when we faxed her insurance verification on several occasions and she had the address as well. The only information that she didn't have was there phone number. We did indeed give her the renters phone number when we were made aware of this problem as well. We have never stolen any money from Karen Silvers so I am unsure why she would state that in her complaint here and we definitely didn't act in a fraudulent manner at anytime and we did fulfill our obligations to the terms of the contract and we will file our on defamation inquiry against her for these false claims against us. Everyone involved has accountability in this matter and we are doing everything to ensure that she is fully reimbursed by the renter and that this situation is resolved amicably. I felt it was imperative to share our side of the story as Karen Silvers misrepresented the facts in her complaint. There was error on the renters part, however our company Beverly Hills Luxury Car Brokers did fulfill the requirement of the contract and we paid every car note that was due to her and we have the proof of all the monthly payments that were made directly to her. I feel this is a great forum and and a great venue to express concerns and complaints but only if they are done without malicious intent and only when the corrrect information is stated. I am positive that we will be able to resolve her issue with the renter, however we have fulfilled our contractual agreement with her and have no responsibility for the actions of a person that rents a car from us as stated in the contract. We have a great service that works for alot of people but its clear that you can not satisfy everyone. We will continue to work with Karen to resolve her issue in full. Thank you and have a great day.
