I am a 23 year old with a 1 year old son. These people called me several times. I hung up on them and they still called back. they asked me the account number so they could do a direct deposit and then after they they said it would be $298. i told them no and they said they will be sending me papers and if they do not get them back i did not have to pay. needless to say no papers came and my money was gone. now my son is sick and i can't take him to the doctors. i have no money. i called these people and they said my money will be returned but it's a week later and nothing.

How I got my money back from Nationwide Grants

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, March 29, 2006

Jessica,
First of all, I hope your son is doing well.

The same thing happened to me with Nationwide Grants. Here is what I did and I got my money back. If you use online banking, and your money was taken out of your account with their processed check using your banking info. click on the check number and you will see a copy of the check. Look for the processor's phone number. It should be toward the top left hand side of check. Call that number and tell them what happened and ask for a refund. If you get their voice mail, leave a message but also do a reverse phone number lookup and get the name and address of the processing company. Write and explain what happened and ask for a refund. I got no response when leaving messages on their voicemail but got immediate action after they received my letter. I was told by the processing company I wrote that they handle most of Nationwide Grants business. If you would like to email me to see if the processing company's telephone number is the same as the one I dealt with you are welcome. If it is the same, it would save you the trouble of having to find the information needed to mail them.

I wish you luck and hope the outcome for you is as possitive as mine was.
